OCTOBER FUN & FROLIC

This is a sign Sara picked out a few years ago to hang above her door. I love it!! It seemed appropriate for this post. : )

I got my inspiration from a few sites this season. One being 'Sadie Olive' and the other being 'Made With Love and Lots of Glue'. Oh, and we can't forget Martha Stewart. Thanks girls! (Like I can call M.S. "one of the girls"). ;-)

I love my little spider crawling over the O. He's new this year.

I painted these three little guys a few years back, but now they've taken on new life (ha-ha) since I put them under glass. My kids have commented on how "cool" they think it looks to display them like this. When my kids think their old Mom has done something cool, that's all the approval I need. The ghosts are staying. : )

Sorry if this is too warped for some of you. But if you have boys in your family, you'll know why Halloween has to include some stuff like this.

My candy corn lights, lit up.
Mr. Pumpkin Head, lit up.
And the VERY BEST for last... My three grandbabies make my universe go 'round. There are no earthly words to express the joy they bring into my life! Therefore, you will just have to wait to find out for yourself one day and then you'll get it. : ) I once saw a bumper sticker that read, "If I'd known how fun grandchildren were, I would have had them FIRST". Hee-hee!

Above, is my little grandson, Master S. and me, Halloween 2004.
Here is Master S. as yoda, Halloween 2006. Too adorable and cute for words!
This is Princess G., Halloween 2006. Couldn't you just eat her up? This is Princess C., Halloween 2007. That precious expression on her face reveals how sweet she is on the inside too. Nana (that's me) made the little Dorothy dress she's wearing for her Aunt Sara, when Sara was little. What a thrill to pull it out of the box and use it again. : ) And here are my wonderful, precious little cupcakes all together for Halloween last year. My two sweet little girls belong to my daughter and SIL. And my adorable little guy belongs to my son and DIL. How can I ever thank my children enough for giving me these most prized little gifts? Oh how I love being a family!!

Halloween Crafts Through the Years

As promised, I thought I would do a compilation-Post of some of my favorite Halloween crafts. I used a stamp set to make the paperdoll, below.
I bought some ceramic hands at a thrift store and decided to spray them white to put into my Halloween vignettes.

Here's a tiny "instant ancestor" I found at the local Antique Store. I just made her a little more fancy. : )

Spider webs can be made from thin rope.

I love to make decorated Bingo Cards!

My "instant relative" again, decorated a different way.
Someone used Scrapbooking supplies to embellish this pumpkin, below. Sara and I took this pic while visiting a cute shop a couple years ago.
Thanks to the Blog, 'Stuff by Ash', I made this with the kiddos last year.

This is how I made my Boo Jars.

And......couldn't resist showing my latest creations, which I finished at (?) a.m. last night. :-D

I hope you found some inspiration here today. Have a good one!

Daughter Does Her Mother Proud

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Like mother, like daughter"? Well, when it comes to Holiday decorating, the saying applies to all my children. They've happily carried on the tradition of going ga-ga over the holidays. : ) We went out to my married daughter's place last weekend and here's what we were greeted with.

Also, last Saturday, we had these two little pumpkins over for awhile while Mommy and Daddy ran some errands. So...we colored some Halloween pictures.
Oh, notice the cute hair bows daughter made for the girls.

We watched one of our favorite Halloween shows, 'The Halloween That Almost Wasn't'. We've watched this every year since...almost forever. : ) Our other fun tradition is to watch 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken', with Don Knotts, while we carve our pumpkins. It's a "must-see"!
Grand finale where the Witch flies over the moon.
Next we made some Halloween cookies. YUM!!

Enjoying their work. : )
We are going to miss this little Trick-or-Treater this year. He is in London with his mommy and daddy. : ( Daddy is there working, and mommy is there going to school.

We love and miss you guys. The holidays won't be the same without you this year!!!
I'm behind in catching up on your Sites. Don't give up on me, I'll catch up over the weekend.
Have a great one!
