Wednesdays With My Mom

Look at that face!!! So adorable. Baby #3 is about three months old here. So sweet!
For the two previous Wednesdays, my mom and I watched the whole series of Pride & Prejudice. There's no such thing as seeing it too many times!

While we watched P & P, I brought the ironing board down to press her pants and shirts. Ever since I can remember, my mom has insisted on having well-ironed clothes. And ironed-in pleats on the pants are a MUST! : )

And last but not least...we finished up the Cinderella puzzle last week. She really enjoyed it.

GUESS WHAT??? I recently won TWO giveaways!!! Let's start at the beginning. Tina, of Tiny Bears, lives in Denmark. But she found me the week of 'Where Bloggers Create'. So when I went back to pay her a visit, I signed up for her wonderful giveaway. A trinket box...why can't I ever resist trinket boxes??? I have a million!

Next up, here's the homemade "business card" I made myself a while back so that when I ran into old friends...which happens ALL the time at Wedding Receptions, I could say, "Here you go...this will bring you up to date on all the kids, and all my silly nonsense." : )
BUT!!! One day I was visiting the Queen of Re, who was hosting a giveaway for Vintage Bella, and I couldn't resist. It's kind of silly really, since I never plan on going BIG, but OH the fun it will be to whip out this amazing card next time I run into an old friend. : )

Actually, this little sign has been up next to our front door for years now. I thought it would be good for the kiddos to see this each day (or evening) JUST before they left our home...as a little reminder. : )

Paper Fun and Frolic

This top little guy is one of the new items in my Shop. But first.......

I started the cute card below, over a year ago at a Scrapbooking Convention. I went with my SIL. (Fun times, Cindy)! But just recently I finished it up and gave it along with a graduation gift.

And then, I meant to share this with you weeks ago. But I couldn't publish it until AFTER my sister received it in case it would spoil her surprise. If you remember, my Dad use to call her his "little firecracker" because of her July 4th birthday. So I went a little crazy with the envelope. No surprises there!

Some of you may remember when I made this purse using a placemat for part of it last year. That's a real Levis Strauss pocket, with real Levis belt loops to hold on the straps. : )

Okay, onto the frolic...

I stayed up 'til the wee hours of the night with this guy.

This little girl below, pops out as 3-D because I put spacers behind her.

This fun banner may not look like much work, but I had to cut out three patterns for each triangle, then fancy cut each one. I could have made three, but the layered look was too hard to resist. I got my inspiration from two places...a photo in a Mary Engelbreit magazine and a post on Style Sisters last year. I asked her where she got hers and she said she found it in a little boutique in her neck of the woods and she bought the last two. Hers actually said: Halloween.

Wednesdays With My Mom

Darling Mom, darling little June.

Below, Andy says, "Hey...don't even think about leaving me here to babysit." Hee-hee.

On this day last week, we went to Costco to pick up a couple of things and of course had to have our favorite...pizza, before we left.

And then, on another day I was able to give these two books to my mom that I ordered from Amazon. She had recently seen both on Television and was asking about the books. She mentioned how much she would love to read the stories behind them.

I snapped this of her just as we were leaving to go back to her place. So sweet.

Sermons From the Bathroom Mirror

I've been such a slacker this week. But I couldn't resist adding to the "Sermons..." post today. It's a little embarrassing how old and dated this looks. I hand wrote it back in the '90's. Oh well, at least the message will never be outdated.
This was on my children's bathroom mirror for years. Like Janice, from Grams Blog and Marie, from Spun by Me, alluded to... The kiddos need to do something while they're brushing their teeth. Why not make it a teaching moment? : ) If you missed last week's, click here.

P.S. I wish I could remember who the quote was from. It was in a lesson I was teaching to a group of young women one Sunday (a LONG time ago). I made one of these for each of them to take home and then came home and put it up at our house too.

Wednesdays With My Mom, (plus a teeny bit of pride to share)

A new little family of five now, with the first three kiddos, here. My mom's health was challenged a bit after having no. 2 and no. 3 so close together, so you will notice her looking too thin in the next few weeks of photos. Regardless, she looks SO lovely here. So does my dad!! : )
Can you EVEN believe this??? Diana, you should have been entered in a contest!My grandparents (below). Looks like they came from Texas to see the new baby, enjoy the oldest two and help out during their visit. What special people they were!

On this Wednesday, last week, my mom and I enjoyed watching The King and I. It was so delightful to watch again. I hadn't seen it in a LONG time. Who can forget the adorable dance scene between Anna and the King?

Or the amazing interpretation (below) of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Some of the most outstanding choreography ever!

I always thought Debra Kerr and my mom looked alike. Both beautiful!

My sweet friend, Margie, offered to let me borrow some of her 'large piece' puzzles to do with my mom on Wednesdays. They say that puzzles, word games, crossword puzzles, etc. are very good for the brain and memory.

And last...I hope you won't mind me sharing something very HAPPY with you!! Michelle, over at From House to Home purchased one of my Nest Banners recently and then took photographs of where she displayed it in her home. I thought I would burst with pride when I saw these pix over at her place.
