Wednesdays With My Mom...AND More Hall Decking : )

This photo below is from my mom and dad's first Christmas together after they got married. I can't get over the darling little vintage tree.

This one, below, is what I imagine their tree looked similar to, in color.

On this day last week, my mom and I went over to my sister's house, to color my mom's hair. While we waited for the color to set, June showed her a pic I posted of her on my Blog a couple of weeks ago.
My Sis is a big fan of Mickey Mouse, so I took her these little dolls to stick in her tree. So fun!!!

Still damp, but much more color again. : )
No surface is safe around here.

The next three pics are of my Lori Mitchell figurines. I'm such a fan!!!

The Santa I made last year, thanks to Mimi Sue and the link she posted to Joli Paquet. Thanks girls!

The Peppermint lights came from Walmart.
I tore the 'Snow Blanket' into pieces (from Target or Walmart).
Then, I sprinkled it with the 'flakes'.

The Whoville Tree... II

After I take my mom to the Neurologist today, I'll be stopping by your places again tonight. I got caught up from two posts ago, now playing catch-up again. Never a dull moment over here. : )

Who Could Use Some Comedic Relief Amidst the Hustle and Bustle?

So Sara and her friends went to a "White Elephant" party tonight. When we went to our Storage Unit today to get out our 200 ft. tree (at least it feels like 200 ft. when you're trying to assemble the thing) guess who greeted us? That's right...Aragon! When Sara outgrew him, he was demoted to storage, the poor guy. But Sara and I looked at each other and said, "Perfect".

"Oh Aragon, parting is such sweet sorrow. But we've has some good times."
One of Sara's cohorts, J. : ) I actually tied a big red bow around his neck before they left. Sara said Aragon was a huge hit. At one point he ended up wearing a Snuggly. LOL! Goodbye Aragon, I hope you'll be happy in your new home!
I wanted to share a couple of good buys before they're all gone. First, these two little snowmen are sold as a set at Costco for only $12.99. I usually do all my decoration shopping AFTER a holiday is over at 50, 60, or 75% off. But these two were too cute to pass up.

Next, is this AMAZING $1.00 DVD from the dollar section in Target. I've bought four of them now (gave one to my mom and another to my sister) because they're just SO fun! It runs for hours if it's on "looping" or you can view it with 35 minutes of music. So far we've just had it on with the crackling.

And last, I'm just throwing these in because I did some tweaking here this year. I changed out a couple of things and added the 'Merry Christmas'.

I'm sure you're all crazy busy. But I try to remind myself that it's a fun crazy busy. Some days that works, some days it doesn't. : } I still haven't gotten back around to all the comments from my last post. But don't give up on me. I'll finish making the rounds this weekend. I truly DO enjoy stopping by your places.
Have a great weekend!!!

Wednesdays With My Mom...PLUS, some goofy stuff

Well, that two and a half years went by fast since little Steve was born. It will make all of you feel better (as in, less guilty) to know that my parents' picture-taking-days slowed down with each new baby. So there were not a lot of pics of my mom between Steve and me. But isn't this darling of her? She looks great here for having just had her 5th child.
Below, our precious grandparents (on my mom's side).
Below, I had just said something that made my mom giggle. I'm so glad I snapped this just in time to get this sweet smile.
Just for fun, I stuck in this DVD of old vintage Christmas Cartoons. Mom got such a kick out of them.

A couple of pics on top of her Entertainment Center. Someday I'll scan the one of my mom and dad, below. It's so sweet how he's leaning his head on hers. : )
We got a surprise visit from my cute sister, June, while I was there. It lifted both our spirits. Thanks so much for taking the time to come over that day, June.
See this picture below? Believe me...I was tempted to do the same after viewing it in an email.
But instead, I put my "shoulder to the wheel", dug in, and did the right thing. : )

And last...want to see the silly thing I did with the Pottery Barn peace-sign I bought a couple of weeks ago?
I bought it with the intention of bringing it home and doing this to it:

I know, I know! : )
