Wednesdays With My Mom (and giveaway reminder)

Well, last week was one of the wackiest I've had in a long time. So I ended up making my usual Wednesday all-day visit on Thursday.
This picture, above, is way out of order. This is actually a photo of my mom holding child #3, my sister, June. I'll get back on track (chronologically speaking) next week.
Okay, a precious story:
The cutest thing happened this night, last week. We were watching 'The Rookie', with Dennis Quade, and during the scene of the High School baseball game they sang the National Anthem as usual. Well, I was over at the ironing board and I JUST KNEW she would sing along. So I stopped everything I was doing just to watch her. She had a smile on her face and was singing along ever so softly. I snapped this pic later. : )

Just a reminder to sign up for the Giveaway before Friday at noon by clicking here. Thank you so much for all the sweet comments and participation!!!

There is just something about the National Anthem that makes everyone want to sing along. I bet that was a special moment for you.

  5. I love how you have reminders taped to the TV for your mom. I'm going to start doing that for myself. Great idea. My memory is not what it used to be. Love all your old pics. Give her a hug for me because today I'm really missing my mom. Mimi

  13. The image of you ironing at your Mom's while she was watching The Rookie and singing along made me cry. What precious times you have with her. My purse and bottle came today...safely and totally intact! They are even more lovely in person than in a picture. The fabric handbag is beautiful and will be a gift for my big sister...maybe the bottle, too. I have to think hard about parting with that! Thanks Mary Lou! You're the best!

  18. She sang along - how cute!

My grandmother loved Abbott and Costello so I liked to rent them if she was going to be over. It was hilarious to watch her just laugh and laugh (of course I was laughing too because they are hilarious)
