Look at that face!!! So adorable. Baby #3 is about three months old here. So sweet! For the two previous Wednesdays, my mom and I watched the whole series of Pride & Prejudice. There's no such thing as seeing it too many times!
While we watched P & P, I brought the ironing board down to press her pants and shirts. Ever since I can remember, my mom has insisted on having well-ironed clothes. And ironed-in pleats on the pants are a MUST! : )
And last but not least...we finished up the Cinderella puzzle last week. She really enjoyed it.
I think your 'Wednesdays With Mom' posts may be my favorites...what a wonderful way to pay homage to this very special person in your life. I lost my Mom 12 years ago this month and not a day goes by that I don't miss her! Bless you for spending these wonderful days with your Mom!
It's nice you can have simple pleasures with your Mom. I got to visit my Mom and Dad yesterday and take them out for lunch. It is special the time we have together.
It warms my heart that you plan and enjoy these activities with your mom and savor each moment. In a time where many complain about having to care for an aging/sick parent it is refreshing to check in with you each week. The one year anniv. of Mother going to Heaven is next month and I loved/cherish every single minute we shared together. God bless you both.
Each Wednesday you spend with your Mom is so special. Just doing even the small things are great. The puzzle turned out great. How sweet of you to keep her clothes ironed just as she likes to wear them.♥
Oh M.L. How precious to iron for Moma. You know I Can remember when my Moma ironed for me, so how lovely to be returning the favor. How is your Moma doing? Is she still in her special home? Is she happy there, or anyway are they taking good care of her there? You thought she would be a nice person. I am so thrilled for you. Alzheimers is a horrible disease and touches every life within the family. Thanks for your prayers honey we so appreciate them. Love, Sherry
HI!!! Love the dress your Momma is wearing in that photo, aren't you baby #3??? Or where do you fit in again???? I love P&P, I also love to iron, I need to get my P& P out again and watch it --while ironing all Miss C's cute little dresses!!! Since I LOve to iron, I volunteered to do her things!!!!!To much fun!!!! love, jamie
Oh my goodness, my mother inlaw always ironed in pleats on pants and down button up shirts. I made it very clear that I was not ironing!!! (smart for how young I was) Although, I have to say, pleats down the front of button up shirts does look nice. Have a good day. Sandra
I think Wednesdays with your Mom are so special. I've been sharing them with my Mom. I call her every other week and one of the things we talk about is your Weds post. She enjoys it as much as I do! I wish she and I could really get together every week ~ the hundreds of miles between us make that impossible. But now we celebrate through you and your Mom. Thanks a bunch for the inspiration!
Oh I LOVE that Pride and Prejudice! I've been waiting for some channel to air it so I can record it but no luck so far.
Glad to hear she enjoyed the puzzle! I went dumpster diving the other day and recovered a puzzle - I'm hoping all the pieces are there. Yes, dumpster diving. :)
I like your idea on making the shadow box with my mole skull and the bottle so I'm working on that this week! (Nothing like being prepared way ahead of time)
your mom looks like a fashion model, she's so beautiful. I never get tired of looking at your pictures what wonderful memories...it's extra special because you share them with all of us. My grandmother taught me how to iron pleats and she would say "if you don't iron them correctly then they won't look right when you put them on"..LOL! I hated ironing pleats so I bought clothes that didn't have them...LOL!! Thank you for all your kind words on my posts, please know I appreciate them very much.Hugs, Jennifer
I never ironed anything (gasp!) until I married my husband- and now it is an addiction. Even the baby's clothes are pressed! Its sweet of you to think of those little things to do for her...
I'm right along there with 'Diva Kreszl', I love 'Wednesdays with my Mom' a lot. We, all my daughters and DIL's get together, with my mom on Wed afternoons to eat a pot luck lunch and then play cards all afternoon. We mostly play hand and foote, and there are always little kids running around, but it's 4 generations of us having fun together every wed. I always enjoy your wed post. ♥
How close together are the kids? You all seem like little stair steps. I think I read a long time ago that there was some time in between the first set and the second set of siblings. Anyway, love the pictures. Reminds me of a simpler time. Give your mom a hug for me. Mimi
This is just strange, I always end up commenting right after someone named Mimi something. Funny! I have never seen that series, I know, I know...I need to!
Those cheeks just make me smile...how adorable and the thought of ironing your moms pants...oooo so precious. My mom and I used to iron pillowcases and we had to fold them JUST RIGHT. Of course, I love the Cinderella puzzle. Still posting on Once Upon a Fairyland. Tomorrow I'm showing the inside of the castle if you want to take a peek. Having the time of my life, thanks for the sweet post!
How did I miss this post? I'm glad I checked back. It sounds like you two had a good day. Was it your job to iron when you were growing up? It was mine and you know that was before permanent press when every piece was a real chore!
Hi ML! It is this blogging community that can take up so much of our day! Photographing, and uploading, and posting, and responding! Whew... and for you, all of the wonderful Halloween artistry! I see such wonderful things in your future. Please know that sadness is close to your heart these days. Let it come and pass in it's own good time, and take time to care for yourself. Elizabeth
Hi, ML! I am a huge P&P fan! I agree, you can never watch it too much! Once a year my hubby agrees to watch it with me - but only once a year. I love your mom's coat in the picture at the beginning of your post. That pudgy baby face is great! Mary Lou

ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching that movie too.
ReplyDeleteWhen My Hubby was in the reserves I had to iron his uniforms just right. They had to have perfect creases in just the right spot.

You are so right---you cannot see Pride and Prejudice too many times! How fun to share it with your mom.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to bless your mother by ironing her clothes.
Your appreciation of your mother warms my heart. I love your wonderful relationship. Thank you!
