Be On The Lookout...

for small Gingerbread Man cookies in your local stores. I used to always find them in the grocery store made by 'Mother's'. But last year I could only find them at our local CVS drugstore.
I posted about these fun 'Countdown-cookie-chains' last year. So the rest of this will be a re-post:
I've been making these gingerbread man countdown chains with my kids since my oldest two were little. When I started this, I bought a miniature cookie cutter and baked them myself. Now, we just buy them, but the FUN is still the same!
Pull out a very long length of plastic wrap. Cut in half, length wise.
Lay all 25 little men face down.
Pull wrap over on one side all the way down. Then pull the other side over so it looks like:
This!
Then flip whole chain over, so their little faces are facing you.
Use any type of ribbon you want to tie bows in between each gingerbread man.
Hang the chain from any hook, peg, or stocking holder.
Tie a little pair of scissors on for cutting each day.
Enjoy the fun!!! : )
***PLEASE NOTE: A good family friend is taking our computer (over the weekend) to help us clean it up, so I won't be around for a couple of days. But I'll be back when I'm all "New and Improved"! : )

  1. Oh M.L.
I am off to the CVS Pharmacy for a prescription today and I am going to check on this. With (7) grandkids and another one on the way, these would be so wonderful to give to each child at Thanksgiving so that they could be hung up for December. I know even the older kids would love them. What a wonderful gift to give to a co-worker to hang on their cubicle, as they could take one off each day. They wouldn't be that expensive. You could attach them to an ornament.

I love this idea sweetie. Thank you for sharing with me today.

    Country hugs, Sherry

  2. That is an adorable idea. Here in GA (at WalMart) we have Little Debbie brand Ginger Bread Men - I think there are 8 in a box for $1. They would work well in this project. Thank you and best wishes with the computer. Have a nice weekend.
