See this angel book below? I bought it over ten years ago to make into "My Happy Book". I was receiving monthly issues of Victoria and Better Homes & Gardens at the time and there were so many lovely pictures in them that I thought I would tear out my favorites...put them in this book...and look at them any time my spirits need a lift.
These first sets are just some samples of what I already have in the book (with a few close-ups).
And these next single pics are ones I have waiting to go in.
You see...... makes you happy just to look at them!!! I may be sharing more "happy pictures" as time goes by. But I leave you now with a chuckle (sent via email from my brother).

I'm sending that biker bar right on to my son in FL!! Love your happy pics- that bike at the gate is the entrance to my dream house :)
xoxo Pattie
good idea to do the scrap book.. It beats saving hundreds of magazines.. (like I do!)
the florida bar pic is so funny!
have a great day

Your happy book could be my happy book too! Each one of those shots lifted my spirits!
What an excellent idea!
I thought the biker bar was darn funny!
How's your mom????
I have a binder that is similar as yours. Your right, it does make me happy looking at them. I also do the same thing with the pictures in my journals that I have. Presently I have a folder that is LOADED with pictures waiting to be glued in journals. I SO enjoy doing that. I find it so relaxing..lol
Your Happy Book is such a good idea! And so beautiful. I just rip out pictures and stick them in my sewing desk drawer! The biker bar cracks me up!
I do that too! I don't call it My Happy Book though....although looking through mine definitely makes me happy!
I save photos, etc from magazines and put them into page protectors and then into a binder. It's a good way to reduce the piles of magazines in my house too.
Love the Biker Bar!
I hope your Mom is doing well!
I love this idea...your cut out photos made me happy as well.
Hey, I think that bike on the far left is mine!!!
I had a book just like that, hmmm...now where is it! I have binders that I put my happy pictures in. I love the biker bar, so awesome!
I love that you created a happy book. I hope you don't mind if I copy and create my own version of this.
LOL. I love the pictures you have collected in your book - what a great idea!!! And the last picture took me by surprise and made me laugh. :o) Have a great day, Mary Lou! xo
I LOVE your happy book! That is a great idea! That biker bar is too FUNNY!! Hope you have a fabulous day today.♥
I have cut out pretty photos over the years and never put them in a book! You've inspired me! What a nice way to enjoy what you've saved. I'm in Florida....we see lots of golf carts all over the place! lol
Enjoyed the pictures. Love the picture of the biker bar. Glad you have a book to look at when you need a lift.
Ooo Who! I love your happy book. Who does not love the pictures from Victoria? I love the stack of hats, the white dress hanging, the pink bike and white trellis..............and the biker bar....hehehehe
Enjoy your day.

what a great idea! I always clip pictures and they rattle around loose in the junk jar until I get frustrated & throw them away! I have PLENTY of old notebooks lying around!
My mom showed me that "Biker Bar" email from Steve yesterday! So funny! Thanks for staying so upbeat and sweet as always while I know you're going through a hard time, you are so great. <3
Very pretty! I can see why they make you happy.
Good idea for a happy book...beats my stack of ripped out magazine pages!
{{{SIGH}}} yes I'm happy now!! But later it will turn to envy when I look as the chaos my boys create in our house!! But I'd rather have them & chaos than the perfectly styled home without!!! That is a lovely idea...thanks for sharing & LOL at the 'Florida Bikers Bar' photo!! xx
The biker bar did indeed make me chuckle. I love the blue bed in the "ready to go in the book" photos - and that pink bicycle! I would totally ride that everywhere!
I had a college Prof. who encouraged us to do a sort of "happy book" only mine is a "happy file" where I keep notes and letters full of kind words from people and I can read through it when I'm feeling low. It works every time.
Thanks for sharing you happy with us! I hope you are feeling some happy as well.
loved the biker bar in Fla. good stuff!
i too have a "dreamer happy book".
your daughter's inspired me to start it a few months ago.
my lines are not straight. i just rip them out cuz i cant cut straight. it is a handicap i have.
:)
i enjoyed your happy book pics!

The Biker Bar photo is priceless for my brother and husband!
Your Happy Book is a great idea. I especially liked the stack of ladies' hats! Reminds me of the days when my mom and grandma wore hats to Sunday church services!
Gotta love that Biker Bar . . too funny! Happy Tuesday Mary Lou.
I love the "biker bar" photo! That's a scream!
Thanks for sharing your book. I like that idea. I could use something like that - something just for pictures of things that make me smile. Good idea!
Mary Lou
I love your Happy Book! I have one too but it's called 'My Good Ideas Notebook', I love looking at it, some things still tickle me some styles I have outgrown. I do hope you will share more pics soon.
Hi Mary Lou,
Great images you saved. I do the same thing, only with kitchen ideas. I used to manage restaurants for close to 20 years, I also catered and made wedding cakes for about 13 years. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, but I haven't found a person yet that doesn't love my cooking....so kitchens are in the center of my heart of the home. I could care less how my bedroom, bathroom, etc., look, but I'd do almost anything to have a gourmet kitchen. And the weirdest thing of all is that I'd actually use it! I can't tell you how many people I've seen or heard with huge gourmet kitchens say they can't cook, or don't like to cook.....aaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhh that is so unfair!
Just thought I'd let that out!
Hugs,
Meri
The Happy Book is a great idea. I always love the pictures with the Victorian decoration but have never been able to make it look right in my own home :-)
HI Marylou!!!!

have a great week
hugs,
jamie

Hi my friend,
I have a happy book too but I have not added to it in over 2 yrs. You have inspired me to begin again. In fact, I think I'll take pictures and show some next month.
I've sent you the check in the mail for the Kiddle house.
Laughed seeing the biker bar...reminds me of my life working with seniors! I see them lined up at the dining room or med room daily!
Of course your book is adorable and mine is in a boring 3 ring binder. The funny thing is we have a few of the same pictures. What does that tell you? Also that chair it's sitting in? That fabric was my living room drapes. Great minds think alike? Something like that. Mimi
The biker bar pic is a hoot!!!!! OH YES! Your photo's definitely make me happy...they are all so gorgeous! I am going to get me a book and do that same thing....I have saved my Victoria's and Romantic homes and need to go through them and make me a book of happiness too........You are such an example to me.....love your ideas...love the way you are a great daughter....in fact after reading one of your posts and your mom doing a little brain work...I went out and bought a puzzle book and coloring pages for my mom too.....PLUS...I LOVE YOUR BANNER IN YOUR HEADER!!!!!! So stinkin' cute you are!!!!
Lovely pictures! I did feel better and had a smile on my face that grew bigger as I looked through your post. Great idea. Thanks!
I love this idea! I have favorite pictures I love too from magazines. This is an awesome idea for them!
Sorry I haven't been here in a while!
I should make a happy book...that seems like a great idea!
Mary Lou, I had a happy book for years and really do miss it. You have inspired me to create a new one! I do wish you happy days ahead! Elizabeth
