I was going through some old Better Homes & Gardens magazines the other night and thought I'd share some fun things I came across. First off, is this idea of appliqueing on a pillow.
Like so:
I chose a star rather than something intricate like theirs.
I threw these in my Shop in case you have a need for a little Red, White and Blue at your house.
BTW, thanks so much for all the input on my last Post. Here's what I decided...I'm going to make two pillows in graduated sizes. One stripe, one floral and have them both on my chair-and-a-half. : )
Below, is a fun article all about collecting vintage sand pails straight from BH&G. If you click on the picture, it should enlarge for you.
I leave you today with a little Summer Funny. : )

I think your pillow idea is perfect...why didn't I think of that???? Cause I am not as clever as you Mary Lou!

Your pillows are gorgeous. Love the bear and vegetables.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how one pillow can change the mood in a room. These are real cute ML. I like your solution for the pillows to go on your slipcovered chair...please show us the finished creation.
ReplyDeleteGreat cartoon!!

I do like those pillows.
ReplyDeleteUse to see a lot of those old sand buckets around. The graphics on them are so pretty.
Visited yesterday, but was having problems leaving comments on blogs so gave up.
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment.
Love the pillow. I am a blue nut, so I think the blue adds just the right touch.
ReplyDeleteI remember those pails. I wish I had kept mine, but they were always well used, so I know that they were pitched, once they were rusty.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I am so excited when I see that someone has added to the comments.
Beckie (Ponderings...)
Hahaha. Those naughty bears! Great idea with the pillows for your chair. A little of both will be adorable. I used to do a lot of applique, way back in the dark ages. Love that look and you could do it for any holiday. Great inspiration. Mimi
ReplyDeleteOh me, oh my...I know folks are having trouble with blogger. I join the crowd and today is a good day to blog. I have no idea why some days we can comment till the cows come home and other days were stuck in the barn!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile, I just read the June and July issue of Better Homes this morning over my coffee. Tons of great ideas in there.
I'm so attracted to those pails. They are pulling a pretty price up here in our state. Almost not affordable but they are so cute and fun!
Happy weekend ahead. Time to dig in and play in the sand?
HI! I love your blog! I remember a couple months back my mom visiting your blog and showing me those cute wedding cake birds you made i think! They are so cute! I love your creativness!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
