As promised, I wanted to show you what the cute little firecracker belonged to. Isn't this fun? Supplies: 1" diameter dowel, blue glitter, gold pipe cleaners,
one drill I gave to my husband for our first Christmas back in 1892 (not a type-o, a joke...but some days it doesn't feel like a joke). :-) Mark it at 3" and either cut it with a hand saw or Bandsaw. I blew the dust off of my Bandsaw and used it for these. Maybe I'll get out there and start cutting wood again. I've missed that. Drill a hole on the top to glue in the pipecleaners. As you can see below, just glue the scrapbook paper around, add glitter around the stars, and glue in the pipecleaner "sparks". I only had the supplies to make two of these. One for us and one for the Etsy Shop. I put the one in my Shop on Friday night, but it was gone Saturday morning. Thank you to the "person" who patronized my Shop yesterday. : ) I hope this helped in any way. I've seen firecracker groupings of three in graduated sizes tied together, before. Maybe that would be fun to try. : )
Those are absolutely adorable!!!! Love them and thanks for the tutorial.

How crafty you are!!!! These are so much fun. I haven't taken down my decorations from Memorial Day since I can use them all again in another month (well, less now) for the 4th of July!!! Just wanted to let you know that Jack the Pumpkin Head arrived on Friday...he's adorable. My daughter can't have him until she starts decorating for Halloween...maybe she'll have forgotten about him by then, and he will be a sweet little whimsical surprise!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!! May God bless your week!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome...hehehe!!! I just think that is THE cutest thing on earth!!! I may have to try my hand at making some extra firecrackers. I think they would be adorable all around the house for the holiday! The only problem now since you have opened your Etsy store is that I constantly have to pop over here and make sure I am not "missing" something....lol
ReplyDeleteSo that's how you made it! what a great decoration, I like them in the banner too. Very crafty you are...... ;-) hugs, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI just saw that in your shop! Already sold, wow - well congratulations on that end.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! I just love it.
Thats super adorable !When hubby and I first got married our house was all Americana since he is Air Force and I still love things like that , but now just for the holidays..lol
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial :)
The very tip end of "Jack's" hat was kinda bent...but that was the only "problem"!! His name came from that movie...plus...my hubby's name is Jack so I think "Jack the Pumpkinhead" fits....but hubby...not so much!!! HA! HA!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!!!
My computer was dead for over a week! I got a lot done in my house and had a big garage sale this past Saturday, BUT! I missed visiting here and seeing what you've been up to. The variation on the M.E. box was so clever!!! I have spent $1,000 in the $1 aisle of Michael's on M.E. stuff (and other stuff)but never would have thought of creating the adorable gift box. And the fire cracker banner is awesome. You are one exceptionally gifted. Looks like your Etsy shop is doing well. I love my treats from your store. I'll be back soon I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week...hugs to your Mom. (The Sunday funnies were great! I love, love, love, funny kids!)
xoxo

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming over to my blog, from 'A Thousand Clapping Hands'. If you enjoy Dear Catherine, I certainly know I'll like you.

Hey Sweetie! The Nancy Drew purse... If you go to Shawnee's blog she shows pictures of the inside, if you are interested. I don't sew so I have no clue how she did it.:( You can also buy the purses on etsy. I am so in love with mine!:) Lori
ReplyDeletePower tools and crafts! My kind of woman! Love the firecracker...and the way you used it to make the banner!
ReplyDeleteOkay, seriously ML - why aren't things like this in your etsy shop?? Some of these things you make, I'd never make for myself, but I would buy. Help a girl out! :)
ReplyDeleteHELLO M.L.
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing back to me about the crown things, unfortunately the white one on your header is sold out, but the other web site has several things I want!!! No queen or Princess could live without!!!!
Still want that firecracker banner!!! It is way to cool!!!

Just fantastic. It is always fun to see the great things that you come up with. Adorable fireworks!

ReplyDeleteThose firecrackers are so cute. Thanks for showing them.
ReplyDeleteWillow
Hi! I got your e-mail about the packaging. One side of the package was sort of pushed in -like it was pushed next to something in all the post office traffic. But, she was fine inside. Maybe heavier boxes. I just threw out a box I got raisins in from Sam's, and that would have been a great box to ship in. (Too bad I don't have an Etsy shop! ;-) )
ReplyDeleteAnyway, did you get my note?
Mary Lou
PS: There's a post coming soon about Tinkerbelle!
Girl, I LOVE IT! That has to be the most adorable 4th of July thing I've EVER seen!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are the cutest things ever! I love them. I may have to try my hand at them! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is stinkin adorable......LOVE it!!!!!!!!! cherry
ReplyDeleteThose are so fun. One of my girls was born on July 3rd so she likes to collect 4th of July stuff. Maybe when she comes to visit we'll make a few of these. Wouldn't you like to come over for our craft day? Thanks for showing us how. Mimi
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know...I DO stop by! :) Love you! mwah!
ReplyDeleteoooohh. I love this idea. This is awesome for 4th of July...To bad I wont be around to celebrate it or else I would have my hands busy re-doing this....Awesome.thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteMy grandma, grandpa and I made some of these ten plus years ago with different sized dowels, paint and that shiny, metallic star garland stuff in multi-color instead of the gold pipe cleaners. I love them and spread them out all over at the Fourth of July. I like how you used the scrapbook paper. I think that would certainly go faster than painting. Thanks for sharing this. Kelly
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool. And I'm excited to see that you, too, were married in 1892. That was a good year, wasn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute~ what a creative soul you are. I have to tell you, I love that you mentioned the Office where Michael burns his foot~one of my favs. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that -- thank you for the tutorial!! I've been looking for a little inspiration for a few last-minute decorations. And your banner is so fantastic, it's really a work of art! Happy Fourth of July!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Andrea
