Ever since I saw this little beauty ( below) from Cherry's Jubilee, I've wanted to try my hand at one. Better late than never. I think Cherry used a flat piece of wood, but I decided to use the lid of an old box. Below, I cut my own striped scallops by using this Christmas paper as my pattern.
Using the gloss acrylic sealer really gave it a nice sheen.
Cute! I would love to make one of these and I have some chunky candle holders that I found at Goodwill. Great idea. Thanks for sharing it. Love the Fourth of July/ Patriotic theme!
How cute! Thanks for sharing the tutorial. I bought the pieces to make a small glass one some time ago - just another one of those projects on the back burner. Enjoy your weekend.
Happy Summer Mary Lou! I would never have guessed this was not a store bought metal pedestal. It is just wonderful! You give us the very best home decorating ideas that are easy to make for ourselves. Yeah Mary Lou!!!! Elizabeth
SO cute! Love both yours and Cherry's !!!!! I will have to keep my eye out for those round hat box things at the thrift stores and dollar stores.....:) Sandy
Where is my brain...no really, have you seen it? I came here on Sunday and drooled over this cake stand and the tutorial....then wandered over to Cherry's and I guess I lost my way back to leave a comment. (Maybe I left my brain on the road to Cherry's) Anywho, it's a dynamite project and one I will really try! Now, I did tell you that my birdie flew here last week and I love him...he's already on my mantel. xoxo Joyce
