It all started when I went over to Mimi Sue's cottage (her link is in my sidebar) and just about died after looking at all these adorable snowmen she made. On her Site, she told of this link which has a tutorial: http://joli-paquet.blogspot.com/2008/11/snowman-box-tutorial.html Thank you joli-paquet and Mimi Sue.
My inspiration: The Polka Dot Pixie and Lori Mitchell. I LOVE their work!
Looking better.
Finished product. And if you're in love with these two trees, like me, you will find them at Hobby Lobby this week at half off, which makes them $10 each. : )
So proudly waiving his flag.
I dug this little bell up out of my button bin. I think I've had it since 1832 (J/K...maybe), just like the little red pom-pom for the flag above too. See, even in 1982, I knew I would need that someday. Hee-hee. : )
I decided to shake things up a bit for the big day next Thursday. I took some of the things off my living room table and moved them over here. And then added a few more things just for fun. The table looked sad after I took down the Halloween display. So...
And since I figure half the blogs will be about the midnight showing of Twilight today, I wanted to throw these in so I will look like I'm still "all that". See Sara, I'm right on top of today's lingo. I've switched from "hip and happen'" to "all that". What's that you say, "all that" is from the 90's??? Well, at least I've made it from the 70's to the 90's. No wonder all your friends think your Mom is the "bomb". Ok...I'll stop.
Here's my cute daughter, Emily. I had to meet her at the theater with the ticket Sara picked up for her a few days ago. Em lives 45 minutes out of town. Isn't she just the cutest, cutest thing? Her T-shirt says Team Edward. She went with a bunch of her married friends and Sara went with a bunch of her young friends. However, Em and Sara found each other in the lobby and Sara tells me they got some pix taken together. How fun!!!

I was a 47 year old at the midnight premier of Twilight! LOVED IT!!! Your daughter is adorable!
Your Santa is adorable and fall decorations look great. I didn't go to Twilight last night. It was past my bedtime. :-)
I love the Santa you made so cute! There are so many cute things to make but just not enough time!
The finished project is super cute!

I love working with paper mache!
It sure has come a long way hasn't it? You can make some really fun ornaments out of the instant paper mache too.
I JUST ADORE your Santa...You did an amazing job!

What a perfect Santa! I love him, I do!
So sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been a little crazy lately between our house plans, christmas cards and the list goes on. As I'm sure you're just as busy these days. I just had to get over here and say a big Hello to you though.
Blessings - Debbie
I heart all of your decorations.
OMGosh, that Santa is sooo cute! Honestly, you should sell those.
Oh my goodness, that Santa is so adorable! And so are those cute peppermint-y trees. :)
I thought that thing was a duck at first! But you made that "ugly duckling" into something so wonderful!! I love your Santa! He's so perfect!! You did a fabulous job!

That is the cutest Santa in the world!
This Santa is so cute! I don't think I would have the patience to do this detailed work.
You MADE that???? Amazing!!! There's no way I could conjure up that kind of talent. Hooray for you!
Oh my goodness....I love your little Santa. He is the cutest little thing ever! And I wanted to thank you for ALWAYS leaving a sweet comment on my blog. They make my day! OH and yes, the drawing on the pillow is the same crown I drew for the Princess' tee shirt. (the pillow was the original intent for the drawing, but I liked the tee shirt idea too.) :-)
Oh, my dear, you have made my day. To see my little snow people on your blog was so much fun. Love it. But you are so much cuter and oh so creative. Your santa is the best. LOVE HIM!! Are his little legs skewers? dowels? I liked playing with that paper mache so much I might have to try a santa. My 2 married daughters are making snowmen too. I'll post their creations next week. As for the link thing. Go to blogger dashboard and then new post. Type your new post and when you want to link to something blue the word or words by clicking on them. Right in the middle of the page just to the left of add pictures, there's a green icon that when you pass your arrow over it it says link, click on that. A little window will come up and you type the web address in the box (http://whatever) then click OK and it should link. Hope that makes sense. If not find some 4th grader to come over and help you figure it out like I had to the first time I did it. Haha Mimi
PS The 2 older daughters and I were at the movie last night seeing Twilight. I thought it was pretty darn good.
I cannot believe you MADE him!! I'm so completely impressed. His detail is wonderful!
okay, Mom, I had to laugh when I realized you said I went with my "married" friends and Sara went with her "young" friends. Thanks for not calling me "old". Oh, and thanks again for bringing me my ticket, and being so cheery about it. Love ya!
