I can tell my parents were playing with the timer on their camera and my mom wasn't ready, but I still LOVE this photograph!
We started this day sitting out on my mom's back porch. After realizing how wonderful the weather was, she said, "Hey, do you think this would be a good day to try that walk over to Walgreens?" You see, all Summer long she kept saying she wanted to try that walk together when the weather cooled off.

I hope I don't get in all kinds of trouble from all my siblings when they read this...yikes! Don't worry guys, here's where we rested half way there AND I had my cell phone with me.
We had lots of fun just walking up and down the store aisles and sitting down in the pharmacy area to drink the sodas we purchased. SHE PROMISED ME SHE WOULD NEVER TRY THAT WALK ALONE....OKAY GUYS? : )
How fun that Wednesday was New Years Eve. The cutest thing ever, was that they did their countdown to the new year at about 8 P.M. (because some of the residents don't stay up much later than that). Hee-hee : )
Mom was such a good sport for this photo. She's not the type who would normally wear a party hat, but I told her it was for her other children, who would get a kick out of it. So Cute!
Entertainer for the night .
Some of you will remember adorable Marge from the older posts with my mom.
After the "show" my mom and I went up to the Banjo player to tell him we enjoyed his entertainment. He's the one that suggested I take his picture with my mom. How sweet. : )

The celebration at 8:00 cracked me up! It looks like your mom lives in a great place! They seem to get into the spirit of things. I think that guy was hitting on your mom, by the way. ;) Cute pictures! Happy New Year!
Cute, cute. Still laughing at the 8pm countdown...we totally do the same thing with the kids--call it celebrating with Iceland or Brazil, lol! :P
Those people know how to party! It looks like a wonderful place to live. Hope 2009 is a happy and healthy year for you and your family. Mimi
That picture of Grandmother wearing the party hat is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!! And I love the one of the both you as well! What a fun night. :D
It looks like a fabulous place to have gone all out like that for them for New Year's Eve! WHAT FUN!! I am glad your mom knows she can't make that walk by herself and it is good that y'all did it together. Your pictures are always so great of your mom.
Your Mom amazes me with her energy. I'm glad she got to go for her walk.
You are a miracle worker as always! I can't believe you got Mom to participate in the New Year's Party. Looks like she had a great time. I love the picture of the hat. I sure hope she does keep her promise to never walk to Walgreens by herself.
I love your "Wednesdays with my Mom" posts! They are very inspiring!
I just happened upon your blog today and I want to say, how it made me smile that you spent time with your mom on New year's and so delightful! We lost one of our moms this summer, and there are many things I wish I would have taken the time to do, but there are also many things I am grateful I did. All my best. Oh, and might I say, your mother is adorable and the picture of your parents look like it is right out of a t.v. show.
I love that pic of your mom in her party hat! Tell her she made someone's day! Kelly
A Valentine tree!! Yes, thank you for the fab idea. I'll be working on that this week. Mimi
