This one, below, is what I imagine their tree looked similar to, in color.
On this day last week, my mom and I went over to my sister's house, to color my mom's hair. While we waited for the color to set, June showed her a pic I posted of her on my Blog a couple of weeks ago.
My Sis is a big fan of Mickey Mouse, so I took her these little dolls to stick in her tree. So fun!!!
Still damp, but much more color again. : )
No surface is safe around here.

Love the pic. of your mother and her first christmas so heartfelt. Love your holiday displays they are just to cute. WHEREEVER DID YOU GET "I HAVE TO KNOW" THAT DARLING SANTA AND THE CHILD ON HIS LAP? I SO HAVE TO HAVE ONE, ITS SO SWEET! jenglamgirl@gmail.com Have a great day!
Wow Mary Lou-until I read the description, I thought the Santa you made was another of Lori Mitchell's! He's beautiful! I love the pictures of your Mom and the tree from long ago. I remember those sparsly decorated, small trees, too. What have we done? Every year I say I'm going to cut back but I still have a TON of stuff out for Christmas. I wish they'd stop making such cute stuff and just make ugly decorations....maybe then I could resist! Your home looks great..can't wait to see your Whoville tree. xoxo

What great photos you have of your mom and dad as they are starting out in life. It's such a good thing that your parents loved taking pictures.
I love you Lori Mitchell's collection but have to tell you, your Santa really comes close! I remember it from last year and it is wonderful!
I look forward to seeing what else you have in store for us...I think it would be Christmas bliss to live at your house!
Much Love,
Robin~♥

That is such a great picture of your Mom as a newlywed with her tree. You have some beautiful decorations/tablescapes - I always enjoy all your lovely pictures.
What a beautiful picture of your Mom on their first Christmas! The little tree was gorgeous.
LOVE all your decorated spaces and I remember that Santa you made last year. I can't even BELIEVE you could make that!!!!! Of course I know how crafty you are so I don't know why I would think that!
Love your Lori Mitchell figurines but that Santa with the child is just precious!!!!
I love seeing all of your decorations, please keep showing them.♥
The picture of your parent's first tree on a card table-----everyone had those card tables! My mom and dad did, too, and my husband's.......
Your decorating is so fun! I love your figurines, and the one you made is really cute, too. Keep those pictures coming!
Mary Lou
I was just looking at pictures of Christmas taken over 50 years ago. It's fun looking at the old pictures. Mary Lou your place is gorgeous. You really have the Christmas Spirit there.
Love the older photos. Simpler times too and less running around for gifts and more time was spent then at home with family without the TV on:) or now people blogging:)

Those peppermint lights are just what we need in the clubhouse! I love Lori's work also, something about it makes my heart sing.
Today was more than fun for me, I have several friends celebrating bdays and I went out for breakfast, lunch and dinner...good comic relief for sure!
I love the picture of you mom with the little tree!
I wondered what those peppermint candy lights would look like when they were lit up. I saw them at the store but you never know; anyway, they are adorable. :)
Tis the season to be busy. But in a good way! I agree with Joy, I think your santa is just as cute as any of Lori Mitchell's. They were fun to make, weren't they? Love those peppermint lights. Really adds the finishing touch. I love the vintage tree sitting on that card table. Everyone had a card table back then. They sure came in handy. Give Mom a hug from me. Mimi

I love the pic of your mom. Seeing your mother and sister and you coloring your mom's hair makes me think of my mom and sisters. We would sit around while mom had color on her hair and talk, oh the memories. I just love love love your Lori Mitchell figurines. I have several and your santa looks so much like hers. How did you make it? Your decorations are wonderful! After I check out your pics again I may have to go around and tweak my christmas, you have inspired me to keep adding, the more the merrier, right?

Love your Christmas decorations! You can come decorate my house any time - except then there would be nore than a tree that I have to tell the girls not to touch!
That little tree is just darling...as are the MM ornaments.
Your mom is so cute, I bet she just adores seeing herself on the blog!!
You have inspired me with the Christmas decorating...no surface in my house is safe anymore either!
Hi ML, It's Thursday because that's when I read your Wednesday posts. I took my mom to the neurologist yesterday too. I can picture Wilma and my mom sitting together and chatting, watching dvds, maybe playing a card game. They're the same vintage and had a nice sized family of kids. And my mom is crafty and artistic like you all. I didn't get those genes.
LOVVVVVVVVVVVE all your photos. I learned about Buffalo Snow, which I will hunt down for next year.
When I saw your Lori Mitchell figurines, my heart LITERALLY skipped a beat! You've created a monster! ;)
Once again, another lovely time spend here with your "Wednesdays With My Mom" series. I look forward to each weeks posting. Love the photo with your Mom opening her Christmas present...with her wearing her fuzzy slippers, just beautiful. Your home looks lovely with all your decorations.
Maureen
Love how you take care of your Mom! It's so sweet to see.
Where did you get that beautiful house/church in the pic with the snowmen? I love it!
I have my moments of being a "fun mom" and then the rest is all dull. :) I am hoping my Sweet Girl remembers the fun moments more than the others!!!
What absolutely gorgeous pictures of your decorations. And the pic of your Mom is beautiful. I miss my sweet mom so much, especially at Christmas.
Have a great holiday, I really enjoyed reading your blog.

Your Mom is one blessed lady, and I do love the vintage photo with her first tree. Wow makes me want to go out and find my own little tree just like that. Everything looks great over at your house. Have had to catch up because of broken computer. Have a wonderful weekend! Jackie
