Wednesdays With My Mom

I love this photo of my parents with my wonderful Grandma H. (my dad's mother). I'm pretty sure that this was taken while they were engaged. Love those Hollywood sunglasses, Mom!

There's a sweet story behind this photo, below:
Sara said to me as I was leaving, "Mom, will you take a picture of Grandmother when you first walk in? I love how happy she is when you first arrive and she sees you." This one's for you, sweet Sara. : )
It was another "Frosty" kind of day.
Then we did some coloring on her puppy picture. My sister, June, said the two of them did quite a bit more a few days after this picture was taken, last week. She really seems to enjoy this activity.
And time for some more "brain games". : )

Cute "Hawkeye"!!! Sara just loves him on those recent Science shows he does on PBS. She's always saying how adorable he is (I'm pretty sure he's a Grandpa now). And if so, I'm sure he's one of the sweetest Grandpa's EVER!!!
I found this old pic in my files the other day and "doctored it up", just for fun.
You sure are a cutie, Princess G. :-D
I know I'm a day late getting this post out...blame it on Taxes!!!!!!! I hate tax time! It takes over your life for a few days while you TRY to get your act together. Or am I the only one? Probably so! : (
At least it's done for another year. Something to celebrate! : )

Love to see your Mom on Wednesdays!! It is so good that she keeps mentally active by doing crafts and puzzles that stimulate her mental functioning. Sorry, it is the nurse in me that is speaking. I loved the pic that said "G.G." That was what my Mom was known as to her great grans....G.G.!!

YES to board games! Awesome good ol' fashioned brain health. Thanks for the comment on my poodle and mom story today. A day to remember for sure. Life has such an odd way of coming full circle but it's wonderful to sit and expect the next miracle around the corner. I spent the whole afternoon at the Alzheimer Society here planning an Alzheimer Walk and I'm doing a cake walk and forming a fund raising team. I'm all fired up about it to earn money for research.

What a doll your Sara is! And she's right ~ your Mom does look so happy to see you! She also looks like she's enjoying her Frosty ~ we have a lot of Frosty days here. A large chocolate Frosty can make any kind of day a perfect day for my dear father-in-law!

P.S. you are not the only one! Ick to tax time!

I think EVERYONE hates taxes. But we all love the refunds if you're lucky enough to get one back. :) Did you get our blog working?

Mary Lou, I know your days are so very precious with your mother. Know that she will be in so many of our hearts for many Easters to come. Elizabeth

Our business accountant is usually so busy he always files an extension for us and we get him the tax info about June...it works for both of us.

Love the old photo of your mom and grandparents. I really admire how much time individuals took to dress and look nice whenever they went out.

I remember my grandma in the 1960's putting on a dress with hat, gloves, matching purse and handbag just to go to (little) town for a day of shopping and buying groceries! And she went to the beauty salon every week to have her hair done.

Hope you have a perfectly wonderful Easter with whichever your family members you're getting together with. I never even got cards made this year...too much swapping!
