BUCKET LIST...No, I'm not dying : )

The day after I made this little pixie fairy you see below, two of my friends came by to pick me up for lunch. They flipped out (just the reaction I was goin' for girls). Hee-hee. Anyway, I told them that I had been dying to make one of these little pixie fairies, made with an antique photo, for FOREVER! I told them it was on my "Bucket List". So............check mark!! The photo cost me $2.50 at the Antique Store close to my home.
Isn't that the coolest candle holder EVER ???
I just plopped that little crown (from a necklace) on top.

Okay...a bit of history behind this old sewing machine table. I've had it for about 18 years now and the display items for almost as long. This is a photo taken from our last home (PLEASE don't notice the peach walls). I promise...it wasn't lame (as Sara would say) at the time. But then by saying that, it tells you just how antique I am. Oh well, no winning...I am lame! : )
All of my children have been very interested in photography, which thrills me. I'm pretty sure my Emily took this when she was a teenager.

Much better wall color. See...I'm still "Hip & Happenin". : ) Sara...stop rolling your eyes!! Keep in mind, since I am an antique now...I've been collecting Halloween stuff for decades now. What can I say...We're "one of those families". At least one of those families that goes gaa-gaa over Halloween.

NEW TOPIC: The hands. I've said before that I took a lot of inspiration from Sadie Olive's Halloween Vignette this year. I went crazy over her using lots of hands in her arrangement. She was kind enough to tell me that she got the poseable one from Border's Bookstore. However, in my state, Border's does not carry them.
But, I did find these used jewelry hands. Except.... they HAD to be all white just like Sarah's (Sadie Olive). So I did what any blogger on the planet would have done. Spray paint to the rescue!

Before I made my pixie, I tried out the large one in my tall candle holder. Great effect too I think. LAST TOPIC: The banner. I saw a banner much like this one on two sites this season and went gaa-gaa AGAIN! I told my friends...."Saw it, loved it, had to have it, threw a fit, made it, got it."

This project is more time-intensive than I expected.
Thus, the one-third-done creation.
Happy Fall to all. : )

LOVE your vignette. It's perfect. Your pixie is absolutely adorable too. Those hands are really cool. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled for a couple of those.
I have been loving banners for a very long time, but I haven't attempted one. Yours is looking amazing.

Hi, just stopped by your site today and I like it very much.
Just as much as your banner. I made a pastel one out of plastic tableclothes for outside above my sunlounge, but I think I'd like a nice classy one like yours for inside.

First thanks for laughing at my song. I've had it stuck in my head all day. My hubby is about ready to KILL ME...but it made me giggle. Ya gotta love Burl Ives! Second...I'm so glad you came to visit. Because I followed you home and I'm SO glad I did. I actually GASPED when I saw the fairy...then I saw it inside that gorgeous candle holder and I drooled all over my keyboard. (I'm sending you the repair bill!) That is beyond amazing, gorgeous, magical etc etc! I gotta have me a fairy too! But the candle holder really takes it over the top FABULOUS! The hand Idea is totally cool to. Dang in one post you just made me all crazy !!!! I'm not sure I even dare check out the rest of your blog!

I came upon your site via another "decorating" blog and think it is great. You have wonderful ideas, that I will "borrow". I love your "Wednesday's with your mother". I was surprised to see Emily...I knew her when she lived in Kansas, she was in our ward. How fun it was to see her, what a small world.

Your pixie fairie is just lovely. As are all of your decorations.

I so want one of those hands. I'll have to be on the lookout for a jewelry hand and use some good 'ole spray paint.

I really enjoyed looking at all of you things and the post about your mom touched me.

Mary Lou ~ Your blog is wonderful...loving it lots and lots. Thanks for stopping by today to say howdy...to answer your questions...the "doll" is a Santos figure which is usually a wooden carved figure of a saint from Mexico or Southwestern U.S....I found mine at Ballard Designs about a year ago for around $130 and she stands 27 inches tall. She is totally cool and one of my favorite finds. Good luck to you...you'll find one and will love it bunches and bunches.

I'll be back to visit soon...love your banner!
