"I Can Make That" Party!

Chris, over at 'Just a Girl', is having the following:
I wanted to share three ideas for inexpensive gift ideas. I saw a necklace very similar to this one at a nice Boutique in town and they wanted $48 for it, if I remember right. This was so fun to make!

I got these frames at a local scrapbook store. They come out to $2 per frame.

They were out of the silver ones, so I painted mine with model airplane paint, and then sprayed it with clear gloss spray.

I took this stamp of ours, and stamped it on scrapbook paper that was already a collage.

I cut it out, and put a glass slide on either side of the cut-out print. The slides were at the same scrapbook store as the frames and I think they were .49 cents each. I took this picture so you could see that there was glass over the print.

I added a $1.00 charm and the $2.99 chain. (Both at Michael's)

And there you have it. For about $7.00. : )

Next, I found this tutorial for the skirts below:http://grandrevivaldesign.typepad.com/photos/ruffled_skirts_tutorial/skirts4000.html
Here was my take on the tutorial. The pink skirt is actually Grand Revival fabric that I ordered on the Internet from here:
http://www.fabritopia.com/barefoot-roses.html

Princess G. modeling hers.

And Princess C. modeling hers.

I think the girls were happy with their new skirts! : )

Next, you can click on this link for a tutorial I did on these placemat purses: http://thehouseofwhimsy.blogspot.com/2008/09/tutorial-for-placemat-purses.html Talk about inexpensive, but CUTE!!! Wish I could take credit for the idea, but it was my friend, Cathy, who showed me how to do these.

Happy crafting for Christmas!! Now, head on over to Chris's party for more ideas:
THANKS CHRIS!

Have you ever stumbled across a blog that captured your creative spirit? Then made the terrible mistake of forgetting to *save it* for your future visits? Well, I did just that with your delightful blog. Giving up hope, lost forever, in cyberspace. Until I was invited to a party and find you there! I'm So happy to have found you and of course this pendent tutorial. I took a stroll through all your previous post to catch up. I'll be back by (for sure) again!
Sweet wishes,
Sara

Very cool; thanks for sharing. I have those same glass slide thingies but mine didn't turn out nearly as cute as yours. Good idea on the ball-chain from Michael's... anyway - you've inspired me and so I may just have to give it a whirl again. Oh yah - I remember what my problem was; I wanted to do (a) a photo or (b) 2 pieces of paper (back to back) in the slide and the paper/photo was too thick to fit; I think you have to use really thin paper. Did you decorate the back side of your stamped image?

I love that necklace. Good job! I was looking at one today in a shop. $15.00 just for the charm. For the whole necklace $39.00! and it didn't have the little added thing. Love those polka dot plates in the last post. Are they paper? Darling. Mimi PS Those skirts are cute. I've got a couple of granddaughters that are gonna look so cute in them.
