Wednesdays With My Mom...PLUS, some goofy stuff

Well, that two and a half years went by fast since little Steve was born. It will make all of you feel better (as in, less guilty) to know that my parents' picture-taking-days slowed down with each new baby. So there were not a lot of pics of my mom between Steve and me. But isn't this darling of her? She looks great here for having just had her 5th child.
Below, our precious grandparents (on my mom's side).
Below, I had just said something that made my mom giggle. I'm so glad I snapped this just in time to get this sweet smile.
Just for fun, I stuck in this DVD of old vintage Christmas Cartoons. Mom got such a kick out of them.

A couple of pics on top of her Entertainment Center. Someday I'll scan the one of my mom and dad, below. It's so sweet how he's leaning his head on hers. : )
We got a surprise visit from my cute sister, June, while I was there. It lifted both our spirits. Thanks so much for taking the time to come over that day, June.
See this picture below? Believe me...I was tempted to do the same after viewing it in an email.
But instead, I put my "shoulder to the wheel", dug in, and did the right thing. : )

And last...want to see the silly thing I did with the Pottery Barn peace-sign I bought a couple of weeks ago?
I bought it with the intention of bringing it home and doing this to it:

I know, I know! : )

So nice to see your Mom's sweet smile! I love that photo with your grandparents. My grandpa wore a hat just like that. Your home looks so bright and cheerful. Hope you have a great day.

Wilma looks so happy! I love that!

You are endlessly creative. I know I say the same thing over and over again, but, sheesh, you keep being endlessly creative over and over again!

I am breathlessly trying to catch up on blog reading in between getting the decorations up! I loved your cloche party (gotta love Mary E & Patience!) and your glittered houses are magical! (I got a red schoolhouse this year) I always get very sentimental at this time of year...our kids all live away and our parents are gone so I love seeing your family pictures (even your grandparents are cute!!) and the current ones of your sweet Mom. Your blog posts are always uplifting and fun! Thanks ML! Joyce

Your mom is a cutie. This is a great post and feature!
Love your decorations...I put up some yesterday too. It took about 2 hours but looks like it took 2 minutes. The whole time I was out there struggling with lights and cords, I kept asking? IS it worth it???
I suppose YES.

Your Mom has the sweetest smile. I love your Wednesdays With Mom posts.

Your decorations are pretty. You have me beat in the decorating department. I did not decorate the outside. I felt fortunate to just my tree up this year.

I love how your mom's eyes crinkle up when she smiles and yes that is such a sweet smile! How wonderful that your sister surprised both of you ~ I'm sure that made your visit extra-special. The old photos you share are so delightful. On my next visit to my mom I want to go through photos wih her. I know she has some precious memories tucked away in her photo boxes.
Your outdoor decorations look great ~ but I expected nothing less! I was sharing your "cloche party" post with my daughter last night and she kept saying "ohh ~ look at that"! Then we clicked the link to your "Whoville" tree and what a delight that was!!
Thanks for always posting such special things!

By the way - you won the cross stitch giveaway on my blog. Will you send me your address please!

the picture of your mom and dad is sooo sweet. isn't it wonderful to know they will be together again someday.

Such peace that brings us!

I love the pottery barn peace sign.
you are so brave. i cant take apart something that is already pretty. i admire how you do it.

because the end result is always something amazing. My fear is that i would ruin the peace sign and then my final project would stink... "and then she had none!"

Have a great week!

ps love the old cartoons!!!!
very cute idea!

Ah!! Merry Melodies! We had tons of those collections on VHS when we were little. My mom loved them and since we couldn't watch TV growing up, we loved them too. "Cobweb Hotel" is an all time favorite! :0)

Your Mom is precious as always!

Gosh I enjoy looking at the old family photos and it always amazes me what the clothing also looked like and how it comes back in style sooner or later. I am glad you both had a good day with your Mom. You are a wonderful daughter!

Great pictures of your Mom. Your decorations are beautiful. I thought about putting a few more things up and then thought about the fact that I'm leaving right after Christmas to help with my new grandson and my granddaughters. So I guess I'm going to be lazy this year. Have a great Christmas.

Loved seeing your mom smile like that. I also loved that "Ditto" picture. I called Leslie in, and we both got a hoot out of it.

Your Mom does have a beautiful smile.
When I come to visit you on wed, I am always reminded that families are eternal. I love how you love and care for your mom.

I love the peace sign redo! You are "endlessly creative" To quote PJ!
I just love to see what you are doing, and I'm like Marie, I have to open your posts back up and share them with my daughters!

Thanks for your sweet comments.
Enjoy your day.

You have a June in your life too eh? As you've read prior, my mom was June! If you go to my blog, I think it will warm your heart about my mom who had Alzheimers. It's the post from a couple of days ago about Mother Goose. Love your pictures and the clock...you are such a smarty pants..the house is grand too...Keep on keeping Christmas magical!

You were a cute baby! Your mom was and is so beautiful. You've got some great genes! What a brilliant way to get a glittered clock face frame. You are so creative. Mimi

Welcome to the world baby girl! Such sweet photos. As always, your mother was beautiful in all of them.

I always love to see what you are doing to entertain your mother. Your love for her really shines through. Each week I wish my in-laws lived near so I could be doing the same for my mother-in-law. She so needs some joy in her life of confused mind.

LOL at ditto and peace sign. I needed that!
