Who Could Use Some Comedic Relief Amidst the Hustle and Bustle?

So Sara and her friends went to a "White Elephant" party tonight. When we went to our Storage Unit today to get out our 200 ft. tree (at least it feels like 200 ft. when you're trying to assemble the thing) guess who greeted us? That's right...Aragon! When Sara outgrew him, he was demoted to storage, the poor guy. But Sara and I looked at each other and said, "Perfect".

"Oh Aragon, parting is such sweet sorrow. But we've has some good times."
One of Sara's cohorts, J. : ) I actually tied a big red bow around his neck before they left. Sara said Aragon was a huge hit. At one point he ended up wearing a Snuggly. LOL! Goodbye Aragon, I hope you'll be happy in your new home!
I wanted to share a couple of good buys before they're all gone. First, these two little snowmen are sold as a set at Costco for only $12.99. I usually do all my decoration shopping AFTER a holiday is over at 50, 60, or 75% off. But these two were too cute to pass up.

Next, is this AMAZING $1.00 DVD from the dollar section in Target. I've bought four of them now (gave one to my mom and another to my sister) because they're just SO fun! It runs for hours if it's on "looping" or you can view it with 35 minutes of music. So far we've just had it on with the crackling.

And last, I'm just throwing these in because I did some tweaking here this year. I changed out a couple of things and added the 'Merry Christmas'.

I'm sure you're all crazy busy. But I try to remind myself that it's a fun crazy busy. Some days that works, some days it doesn't. : } I still haven't gotten back around to all the comments from my last post. But don't give up on me. I'll finish making the rounds this weekend. I truly DO enjoy stopping by your places.
Have a great weekend!!!
Mary Lou

That is so funny about Aragon!

Your decorations are so pretty. The fireside video is an awesome deal.

I love the way you have your archway decorated. That will be a great place to take family pics this year.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

I wouldn't mind a little Aragon for Christmas - he's hunky! LOL Too funny.

I love what you did with your entry, and your great score from Costco. You have such a great style.

Oh, I may need to get me one of those dvds since we don't have a fireplace. hehe

Thanks for sharing . . . you're right about trying to keep the "fun" in all this holiday bustle - it's so important.

Have a great weekend!

Wow, you are truly an inspiration! Thanks so much. You have no idea that I am a decorationg disaster. I am learning so much from blogging though. My eyes are opening wider everyday to how things should look.

That is a great white elephant. I didn't know who Aragon was (yes, I'm one of the few people in the universe that hasn't seen LOTR-we own the movies--one day I'll break down and watch them). Hubby and son were standing here talking to me and I asked them who he was. : ) I'm sure it was just hilarious and the snuggie thing is funny. I so wish our family did white elephant. It would be so much fun!

I especially like the look on Aragon's face. It's kind of like, "Merry Christmas or I'll shoot you." So funny!!

Your home looks so festive and lovely!

Ohhhh that is perfect for a white elephant gift! I have a cardboard standup...nevermind of who (heehee) that was a GIFT so it was not my doing. But he lives folded up in my closet for most of the year but when we have parties I like to sneak him into the bathtub just partly behind the curtain so that guests can only see him in the mirror behind them while they are washing their hands. Hahaaaa oh I am so rotten. ;)

Oooh M.L. Sweetie....
You had me at Aragon. Now where was your picture with him? Come on you did not take your picture with him? Looks like he was a real hit.

Your home looks so absolutely beautiful all decorated up. I love the garland you ran around the arch way and the banister. It looks so festive.

As always you find the cutest darn things. Now I am going to have to make a Target run. What a perfect gift for a couple of co-workers. I think they will love it. Living here in Phoenix, we have lots of no burn days, so we can't light our fireplaces. How fun to be able to hear and light one on TV. I am so loving it.

Thanks for sharing sweetie. I love it when you do. Stop by and say hi. I sure do enjoy the company.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

LOL!!! Love Aragon! What a hoot! The ribbon, the snuggly, the Merry Christmas! I love it. Gotta share this with my family! Way to go Sara and ML!!!

Your little snowman set is cute.
I love you little houses though. I can't get over them! :-) I open up your blog and just look and look at your header picture!
Did you spray your little bottle trees? Or were you really able to find them in all the colors you have?

Enjoy your day.

I had to chuckle over Aragon! Lifesize and all!

Your decorations are beautiful. Your archway reminds me of my best friend's house this time of year. The 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' is wonderful.

Do you do all the glittering yourself or do you buy things already glittered?

I think we are all being challenged to keep up with reading blogs but they are my daily delight. No matter what I have to read at least just one if not 20 or more! Loved the humor, after this last week, I've really needed it. Be good, Santa is coming to town...Smiling this Christmas lighted night.

Good Morning Mary Lou :)
Thanks for giving me a smile this morning. What a perfect White Elephant gift!!! I really like the way you hung the garland in the arch of your door way. I have a little door way that is very similar---I just may have to borrow your idea. How did you get it to stay up there?? Hope you are enjoying this most special season!!!

Poor Aragon, living in a storage unit! He's probably much happier now;) Love that DVD fire. My youngest was telling me today she wished she had a fireplace. I'll be seeing if I can find one for her. Mimi

Oh how fun Aragon must have had!!!:) I bet there were many giggles!
You always decorate to the tee and I love all your whimsy.
I read somewhere that your mil did a tree and a whole lot more to go with it for the Festival of Trees this year. I haven't had a chance to come by because of taking care of my FIL who is now more stable. So I am hurrying to amke some rounds.
I took over 400 pictures and doubt I will have time to do a post of th FOT's. Your MIL's PINK filled tree were among my most favorite. I took about 20 pictures of hers alone! Some little girl will be beyond, lucky this year!
Merry Christmas to your beautiful family!
