You know how every family has their "Glory Days"? Well, the years spent in this home, in Texas, were the glory years for our family. My mom and dad turned this beautiful home and the landscaping into a palace over the years. Below, are my dad, Andy and June. So cute!
The construction!!
Darling little Steve with his daddy. I was still a baby at the time, so was not expected to dig and work yet. : )
I can't get over how sweet this pic of my sister, Diana, and one of our Grandmothers is in front of our beautiful home.
Last Wednesday I took my mom to get her eyeglasses adjusted. She was complaining about them recently.
Much better. Thanks Nancy and Penny. : )
I wish I could have caught a photo of the cute little boy that was running around and who captured my mom's happy attention. She adores watching children!!!
I took this photo in the car because my mom was sure her hair "looked awful" that day, so I took this and showed her, to prove that it certainly didn't!
Playing around for Valentine's Day. I got my inspiration from all the "Candy Bars" I've seen in wedding pics lately. I couldn't resist.
I made the winged heart (above) and the tag (below) last year.
Remember the Halloween flags I had in my display last October? Well, I decided to save myself the $8.00 and make my own V-Day flag. So easy!!!
I still need to put up these bubble hearts...
and put this up in my hallway. Maybe tomorrow. : )
Be Mine and... Be Good! : )

Oh, everything is so cute - your family pics, your mom, and all your great decorating!
I'm thinking I should start scanning in some of our old photos, and posting them. I really enjoy when you do this. Of course, it probably has something to do with my own memories of that time.

PS: what's going to happen to all that candy?
Love the Wed. with mom! have i told you that? so sweet. You are such a great daughter! LOVE ALL YOUR "WHIMSICAL" valentine decor. the cute hand with the heart... all of it. All that sweet heart candy would be so bad on my HCG diet, but it looks sweet. ;)
Such a sweet post, all the way around! You're a good daughter! And I love all of your Valentine decor. That jar with the Good & Plenty? Great idea, but I would have that sucker empty in minutes!
Looks yummy! At my house all of the candy would disappear before Valentine's day!
A great reminder that we are never too old for some playful delights of Valentines.
it all looks so sweet!!! especially your Mom!
I LOVE your Wednesday posts! Tell Mom she looks beautiful!
xoxo Pattie

Tell MOM , she looks so Beautiful!!!!
I love those pictures of everyone working on the house. Beautiful picture of your sister and grandma. You are sooooo sweet to take each and every concern of your mother and get whatever it is fixed. She did look beautiful and her hair looks perfectly fine. I'm glad you put those fears of hers to rest.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Valentine candy display. Each and everything together looks so lovely. We would have all that candy eaten pronto!!!!! Too many sweet tooths in this family.♥
Adorable, adorable, adorable. Do you go to that store Real Deals??
Nice to see the family photos and all the hard work that went into making a house a home. You said your mom loves watching children; do any organizations ever bring dogs to her home for the patients to pet? Our neighbor has a golden retriever that loves to be petted and frequents the nursing home. I bought my mom a life-like toy dog that really breathed. She loved stroking and loving that puppy! Your Valentine decorations are gorgeous. I can still recall making treat bags in elem school and exchanging cards and treats with classmates. Hope you are doing well.
FABULOUS!!
The photos reminded me of Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House only without the disaster!
Glad your mom is doing better with the glasses and had fun watching the little boy. :D
Your Valentine display is beautiful - I love the "candy bar" things I've seen also. Don't know how well I'd do at having one for decor...I'd have to tape the lids shut or something. ;)
Your Mom and HER hair are adorable.
I LOVE all your Valentines decor. You are so clever and full of inspiration for the regular folks. (me)
Love those family photos...someone was smart taking them all for the future.
As always your mom is adorable, and how I love the stories you share with the old photos. Valentines is most definitely a sweet treat at your house this year...love it, so cute.
Your mom is so sweet.
Love all the Valentine decor!

Wilma looks wonderful! What a pretty smile she has. I'm so glad she's so happy.
Love your decor. Of course I do. I always do. But red IS my favorite color. That alone makes Valentine's Day fabulous.
Oh ML Sweetie...
You tell Moma she looked so beautiful, and her hair was devine. Looked just beautiful. I am so tickled that you are still able to get her out, take her to places and still let her interact with folks. It is so important to her health. I believe that it keeps them young.
My MIL had Alzheimers, and it so robbed her of many things. One of them a personality. I still see a fun, beautiful, happy personality in your Moma. I love that most about her. She always makes my Wednesday. I got over here and read yesterday, but got sidetracked and didn't get to comment so I here I am.
Have a beautiful day sweetie. I have to tell you I love your buffet of so many beautiufl things. I love your flag that you made, and I so love the apothecary jars with candies. Great choices by the way. I love the lady (with the crown) where on earth did she come from? She is just beautiful.
Have a gorgeous day sweetie. Country hugs and much love...Sherry
Love the candy bar. I haven't bought any candy for Valentine's Day (yet ). I still have some left from Christmas and don't need any more in the house. :)
Your valentine decorations are great. Your little grandchildren will be wanting to eat that candy. I so enjoy seeing the old pictures of your family. I'm glad that your Mom's glasses got adjusted and that you take such good care of her. Have a wonderful day.
I love your blog and the pictures of your mother. You are a good daughter and take good care of her.
Could you send me an email? I was looking for a place on your blog to email you, but couldn't find one.
Thank you.

Your Mom is the sweetest looking lady! I love her smile.
I LOVE your candy bar!!! I would love to have one in my house...except..I have enough winter weight for the next 20 winters!!! Of course I could just visit yours!!
Warmly,
Deb :)
The pictures of your family are so nice. What great memories. I think the bird with the card in his beak is so cute. Great job of decorating for Valentine's Dy.
I'm so glad you posted so many pictures of your Valentine's vignette. Each item has to be carefully examined and studied-LOL! I would love to have one those milagro (is that right?) figures..I saw one at Tuesday Morning once and passed it by..silly me! Your sweet Mama's smile lights up a room!
Hey, could you save me a handfull of Good & Plenty? Mmmmmm!
Joyce
Hi from the girl with the curl....HEARTS to you and some laughter and love and FAITH...yes, we all need that. I love your Valentines goodies but who I really love to see is your mom...she makes me happy. My heart has always beat for seniors. I'm so fortunate to work with them every day.
Love all your valentine decorating. Very cute. I need to make one of those little flags. They'd be great for any occasion. Your mom is looking so pretty lately. Give her a hug for me. Mimi
Hi! I LOVE the Valentine's Day Decor! I still have trees up and 6 of them have been changed to Valentine's Day trees!

First, I love your mama...she is just beautiful. Your family pics bring back many childhood memories of this Ozarks farm chicks younger days. I'm lovin' you very sweet whimsical decorations. Just makes this chick want to break forth in song. (Really it doesn't take much!)
From the hills and hollers of the Missouri Ozarks,ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
You make the most wonderful crafts. Just so great.
Your Mother looks so pretty, but she always do.

Mary Lou...Your mother is adorable!!
And I LOVE your blog header!! Wherever did you find that mailbox??
Those are great photos of buliding and landscaping! Too bad you missed out on all the fun.
Great Valentine's decorations. I'm hoping to get my daughter's Christmas dress (that never got cut out) made so she can wear it as a Valentine's dress......Hmmmm.....
The Wednesdays with Mom are just so sweet and remind me of my sweet Momma who passed away recently...I was blessed and honored to have taken care of her in her last years...we had many a fun days crafting, drinking Dr. Pepper, looking at pictures, sewing, doing our hair, etc. I even snapped a pic similar to what you did...our 2 hands together after we did our nails one day...so precious! Your Mom is just a doll! Please tell her so! Just wanted to tell you how special it was to find and read some of your blog! Have a Blessed day!!!

I just love your posts! You are so good to your Mom....I have a question, I LOVE your candy display, where doyou find the wonderful clear jars with the great shapes and tops? I don't want to run around looking for them....maybe you could telll me where to look, or go to online? Thanks! Sandy
Mary Lou, What a delicious post! Truly! I will never look at glass containers in the same way because of you. I so look forward to your amazing decorations. I couldn't help but laugh at the landscaping job - what on earth was the project - it looks so daunting! You can just catch your Mom looking at the little boy - so very sweet. Busy and catching up - I hope the week ahead is wonderful for you. Elizabeth
this is exactly the type of vision I was wanting to get with my mantle......I will let you know how mine goes but i am pretty sure it wont be this spectacular
it probably has something to do with my own memories of that time.
