Wednesdays With My Mom...AND Some Valentine Decorating.

You know how every family has their "Glory Days"? Well, the years spent in this home, in Texas, were the glory years for our family. My mom and dad turned this beautiful home and the landscaping into a palace over the years. Below, are my dad, Andy and June. So cute!
The construction!!
Darling little Steve with his daddy. I was still a baby at the time, so was not expected to dig and work yet. : )
I can't get over how sweet this pic of my sister, Diana, and one of our Grandmothers is in front of our beautiful home.
Last Wednesday I took my mom to get her eyeglasses adjusted. She was complaining about them recently.
Much better. Thanks Nancy and Penny. : )
I wish I could have caught a photo of the cute little boy that was running around and who captured my mom's happy attention. She adores watching children!!!
I took this photo in the car because my mom was sure her hair "looked awful" that day, so I took this and showed her, to prove that it certainly didn't!
Playing around for Valentine's Day. I got my inspiration from all the "Candy Bars" I've seen in wedding pics lately. I couldn't resist.

I made the winged heart (above) and the tag (below) last year.

Remember the Halloween flags I had in my display last October? Well, I decided to save myself the $8.00 and make my own V-Day flag. So easy!!!

I still need to put up these bubble hearts...
and put this up in my hallway. Maybe tomorrow. : )
Be Mine and... Be Good! : )

Oh, everything is so cute - your family pics, your mom, and all your great decorating!
I'm thinking I should start scanning in some of our old photos, and posting them. I really enjoy when you do this. Of course, it probably has something to do with my own memories of that time.

PS: what's going to happen to all that candy?

I love those pictures of everyone working on the house. Beautiful picture of your sister and grandma. You are sooooo sweet to take each and every concern of your mother and get whatever it is fixed. She did look beautiful and her hair looks perfectly fine. I'm glad you put those fears of hers to rest.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Valentine candy display. Each and everything together looks so lovely. We would have all that candy eaten pronto!!!!! Too many sweet tooths in this family.♥

Nice to see the family photos and all the hard work that went into making a house a home. You said your mom loves watching children; do any organizations ever bring dogs to her home for the patients to pet? Our neighbor has a golden retriever that loves to be petted and frequents the nursing home. I bought my mom a life-like toy dog that really breathed. She loved stroking and loving that puppy! Your Valentine decorations are gorgeous. I can still recall making treat bags in elem school and exchanging cards and treats with classmates. Hope you are doing well.

The photos reminded me of Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House only without the disaster!

Glad your mom is doing better with the glasses and had fun watching the little boy. :D

Your Valentine display is beautiful - I love the "candy bar" things I've seen also. Don't know how well I'd do at having one for decor...I'd have to tape the lids shut or something. ;)

Wilma looks wonderful! What a pretty smile she has. I'm so glad she's so happy.

Love your decor. Of course I do. I always do. But red IS my favorite color. That alone makes Valentine's Day fabulous.

Oh ML Sweetie...
You tell Moma she looked so beautiful, and her hair was devine. Looked just beautiful. I am so tickled that you are still able to get her out, take her to places and still let her interact with folks. It is so important to her health. I believe that it keeps them young.

My MIL had Alzheimers, and it so robbed her of many things. One of them a personality. I still see a fun, beautiful, happy personality in your Moma. I love that most about her. She always makes my Wednesday. I got over here and read yesterday, but got sidetracked and didn't get to comment so I here I am.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. I have to tell you I love your buffet of so many beautiufl things. I love your flag that you made, and I so love the apothecary jars with candies. Great choices by the way. I love the lady (with the crown) where on earth did she come from? She is just beautiful.

Have a gorgeous day sweetie. Country hugs and much love...Sherry

The Wednesdays with Mom are just so sweet and remind me of my sweet Momma who passed away recently...I was blessed and honored to have taken care of her in her last years...we had many a fun days crafting, drinking Dr. Pepper, looking at pictures, sewing, doing our hair, etc. I even snapped a pic similar to what you did...our 2 hands together after we did our nails one day...so precious! Your Mom is just a doll! Please tell her so! Just wanted to tell you how special it was to find and read some of your blog! Have a Blessed day!!!

Mary Lou, What a delicious post! Truly! I will never look at glass containers in the same way because of you. I so look forward to your amazing decorations. I couldn't help but laugh at the landscaping job - what on earth was the project - it looks so daunting! You can just catch your Mom looking at the little boy - so very sweet. Busy and catching up - I hope the week ahead is wonderful for you. Elizabeth
