Wednesdays With My Mom (and a Little Chuckle)

This is such a wonderful photo of my mom and brother, Andy. Such a handsome young man!!!

On this day, last week, I took these sewing cards with me just for fun. My mom loved every minute of it. I was surprised how much she enjoyed them.

Arghhh!! I tried and tried to upload the CUTEST video of my mom while she was "sewing" and talking. You would have gotten the biggest kick out of it. I've loaded videos before, so I'm not sure why this one is giving me trouble. Trust me, I'll find a way sooner or later, so you can enjoy it as much as we have over here! So.........after all this aggravation, it looks like I'd better turn to my "Stress Diet". Feel free to join me. Hee-hee!

What a gorgeous picture of your mother! Your brother was handsome as well. Love the idea of the sewing cards, she really looked like she enjoyed it!

Love the diet, I seem to follow that one more than I would like, except for the rootbeer I'm not a fan. It is usually diet coke or depending on the time of day a beer or bloody mary. I'm not sure they go well with oreos or cheesecake but worth a try!

I love seeing your Mom enjoying those sewing cards. That was great for her mind too....having to think about how to do them. You are so wonderful to think of those little things that are great for her.

Fun pictures of your brother. Looks like Mom is really enjoying those sewing cards. I got a real kick out of that stress diet. I'll stick with working in my yard to get out the stress. Boy have the weeds been coming up.

Love your Mom's pocketbook in the first photo. Also, how wonderful was it, when women used to wear white gloves all the time. That was definitely a fashion statement for my Mom during that time. Your charming brother sort of resembles Stephen Colbert in that photo. Very nice to see your Mom enjoying something different. Hope to eventually see the video.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hannah has those same sewing cards, but they are never together with their strings :-) I don't know what's worse about that diet, grapefruit with toast and skim milk or an entire jar of hot fudge, the idea of either makes me a little queasy :-)

It was plain to see your mother was having so much fun with the cards. Brothers are always cute no matter what age they are - because they are ours.

Your mother is beautiful, I used to sit for hours as a child threading those cards.

I just wanted to thank ya for poppin' over and leavin' a sweet comment.

Enjoy your dad and may God bless it!!!

Well, how did you know that diet is the one I'm on right now? It doesn't seem to be working all that well but I'm happy! I love those sewing cards? I used to have some when I was a little kid. I'd like to get some for the grandgirls. Have a great week. Mimi

I'm going to pass that idea on to our activity director if you don't mind. What a neat idea for residents to feel successful at! Your diet had me laughing at 645am...I've been there and done that!

Looks like your mom really had a wonderful time with the sewing cards, I adore her smile.
My grandmother just got to my house today, my mom is showing up tomorrow. So we will have 5 generations of women in my house tomorrow. I bring this up because for some reason this has stressed me out "just a little." So I have eaten everything in site that is not good for me today. No one would believe me if I told them what I ate today~ It's a good thing I don't stress out very often. I just want everything to be nice for everyone tomorrow.
Thanks for the laugh, though it hit a little too close to home!
