From the Files of...My Happy Book

See this angel book below? I bought it over ten years ago to make into "My Happy Book". I was receiving monthly issues of Victoria and Better Homes & Gardens at the time and there were so many lovely pictures in them that I thought I would tear out my favorites...put them in this book...and look at them any time my spirits need a lift.

These first sets are just some samples of what I already have in the book (with a few close-ups).

And these next single pics are ones I have waiting to go in.

You see...... makes you happy just to look at them!!! I may be sharing more "happy pictures" as time goes by. But I leave you now with a chuckle (sent via email from my brother).

I have a binder that is similar as yours. Your right, it does make me happy looking at them. I also do the same thing with the pictures in my journals that I have. Presently I have a folder that is LOADED with pictures waiting to be glued in journals. I SO enjoy doing that. I find it so relaxing..lol

Your Happy Book is such a good idea! And so beautiful. I just rip out pictures and stick them in my sewing desk drawer! The biker bar cracks me up!

I do that too! I don't call it My Happy Book though....although looking through mine definitely makes me happy!
I save photos, etc from magazines and put them into page protectors and then into a binder. It's a good way to reduce the piles of magazines in my house too.

Love the Biker Bar!

I hope your Mom is doing well!

what a great idea! I always clip pictures and they rattle around loose in the junk jar until I get frustrated & throw them away! I have PLENTY of old notebooks lying around!

{{{SIGH}}} yes I'm happy now!! But later it will turn to envy when I look as the chaos my boys create in our house!! But I'd rather have them & chaos than the perfectly styled home without!!! That is a lovely idea...thanks for sharing & LOL at the 'Florida Bikers Bar' photo!! xx

The biker bar did indeed make me chuckle. I love the blue bed in the "ready to go in the book" photos - and that pink bicycle! I would totally ride that everywhere!
I had a college Prof. who encouraged us to do a sort of "happy book" only mine is a "happy file" where I keep notes and letters full of kind words from people and I can read through it when I'm feeling low. It works every time.
Thanks for sharing you happy with us! I hope you are feeling some happy as well.

Your Happy Book is a great idea. I especially liked the stack of ladies' hats! Reminds me of the days when my mom and grandma wore hats to Sunday church services!

I love your Happy Book! I have one too but it's called 'My Good Ideas Notebook', I love looking at it, some things still tickle me some styles I have outgrown. I do hope you will share more pics soon.

Hi Mary Lou,

Great images you saved. I do the same thing, only with kitchen ideas. I used to manage restaurants for close to 20 years, I also catered and made wedding cakes for about 13 years. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, but I haven't found a person yet that doesn't love my cooking....so kitchens are in the center of my heart of the home. I could care less how my bedroom, bathroom, etc., look, but I'd do almost anything to have a gourmet kitchen. And the weirdest thing of all is that I'd actually use it! I can't tell you how many people I've seen or heard with huge gourmet kitchens say they can't cook, or don't like to cook.....aaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhh that is so unfair!
Just thought I'd let that out!

Hugs,
Meri

Hi my friend,
I have a happy book too but I have not added to it in over 2 yrs. You have inspired me to begin again. In fact, I think I'll take pictures and show some next month.
I've sent you the check in the mail for the Kiddle house.
Laughed seeing the biker bar...reminds me of my life working with seniors! I see them lined up at the dining room or med room daily!

Of course your book is adorable and mine is in a boring 3 ring binder. The funny thing is we have a few of the same pictures. What does that tell you? Also that chair it's sitting in? That fabric was my living room drapes. Great minds think alike? Something like that. Mimi

So stinkin' cute you are!!!!
