Aaaaaaaaaaaaa (Code for screaming)

Guess who got another piece of "psycho art" for Mother's Day? ME! Isn't she adorable? I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened her. I've had my eye on her for awhile, but felt too guilty to spluge on her. Thank you, sweet girl!
This little girl was made by one of my favorite artistst that I just referred to a couple of posts back. Debra Schoh of Hop Hop Jingle Boo. I'm so happy to own one of her reproductions!!!

The kiddie's table at our Mother's Day dinner. Their beauty and delight leave me speechless. We had a wonderful day! Thank you James, for making the delicious gourmet meal for all of us!
Don't forget to give me your vote on what you would like me to include in my giveaway. Only 9 posts left!!!!

So far, this below is the number one choice. So consider it done. But I want to giveaway more than one thing, so let me know. : )

Lots of Days With my Mom

My mom's parents and brother came from Texas to see new little Diana. My mom's family is right behind her (brother, mom and dad). To the left of my mom is my dad's mother and behind my dad is his sister, Ione, and her first husband. I think my mom looks adorable and my dad looks distinguished. I know...I'm just a little biased. : ) Well, it's been tests, tests, and more tests. So we've had a lot of time together these past two weeks. I spent the night with her on Sunday because of an important test early the next morning. I was afraid she would forget to not eat or drink anything when she woke up. She did great that day. As usual, one of the nurses said, "She's SO cute." They're trying to find out why she is anemic and why a couple of other levels are low from time to time. She's been such a trooper through the whole thing.
She loves this necklace and was excited to show it to me that day.
Below, a visit from my mom's youngest grandchild, my baby girl. : )
Below, looking over ONE of the amazing photo scrapbooks my sister-in-law made for my parents. We could never EVER thank her enough for the hundreds of hours she put into this project for our family. It leaves me speechless! Thank you Cindy.
Waiting to see Dr. K. I asked her to smile for me. What a good sport.
Happy Mother's Day to all. H

Getting close to my 100th post and a GIVEAWAY

Exciting news...I'm getting close to my 100th post, which means I will follow tradition and have a giveaway. I'm very excited about this and would love your input. At the end of this post I will have a couple of questions for you.
Ok, on to this post. I read an article about a talented woman, Teesha Moore, who made these dolls you see above, and below. It got me thinking about a similar doll I made 200 years ago. No, that's not a type-o, it's just that I feel that old sometimes. : )
Here she is in all her 1990's glory. What I'm toying with is making her a new face, which I will stamp onto fabric, and covering her wings with some awesome 21st century paper and Mod Podge.

Possible faces?????

Onto the next goofy thing...I found an old tin can container at the antique store over the weekend. I put the lady liberty temporarily over the part that says Velvet Tobacco, because I was too embarrassed not to. : )
This is my inspiration, below. Again, thanks to Hop Hop Jingle Boo (refer to last week's post). SO...stay tuned to see how these pieces of "psycho art" (name courtesy of Sara) turn out.
Now for the fun part. I went back through all my crafty projects since the beginning and these are the ones I'm willing to make again for the Giveaway. Look over all 12 of them and let me know which one you would love for the event. I might even make two for two lucky winners.
You can click on either collage to get a zoomed-in look.
Looking forward to all the fun. : )

Just a Bit of Tweaking in Sara's Room

Just having fun with Sara's room last week. We purchased the bare shelf from either Michael's or JoAnn's a while back and painted it black.

Isn't this old camera great? She especially loves the retro strap. We got it for $10.00 at Goodwill and she actually used it for her photography class. She got some amazing pix with this little beauty. I will definitely post some of them one of these days.
Sara got this frame from Hobby Lobby last week and of course chose the perfect photo of the Eiffel Tower to go in.
This huge picture of Audrey Hepburn given to Sara on her last birthday from sweet Brother and Sister-in-law.

Little mirror above closet came from TJ Maxx.
She got it for a steal because the left corner was broken off. We just put a cheap Christmas ornament over it. Good as new, with a fun little twist.
And last, but not least, Sara purchased this beautiful frame from IKEA ($20.00) a while back with the intention of turning it into a corkboard.
We got the cork from Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon, of course. : )
I'll post the final result when it's finished and hung in her room.

Wednesdays with my Mom

Proud new Parents! Welcome to the world, little Diana.
This pic (below) is actually from Monday's Dr. appointment, but I was intrigued with the wall decor so I snapped this pic. My mom has told me many times of how she and her little brother would sit outside their home, look up at the clouds and tell each other what they could see. She LOVES to study and observe things. So of course she told me what she could find in these abstract works of art. So cute!
Another good sport about my blogging. Thanks, Dr. K.
Guess who didn't feel like going to Ballet today. Little Miss G. So GG and I entertained her while Mommy and big sister went. But she was told, "only for this one week." : )
Busy little artist.
I will leave you with a fun little tip...my daughter wanted to cheer up a friend of hers the other day so she went to Walmart, bought these roses for $9.99, the vase for $1.??, trimmed them and added the bow. Very pretty! That's a lot of cheerfulness for that price, I'd say. : )
Have a good weekend.

You Asked For it...I Delivered. Hee-hee!

Some of you asked if I would post pix after my brother and SIL decorated their newly remodeled kitchen. How perfect that they chose to decorate in red, white and black using the super cute Chefs from the Dan Di Paolo line.

Above the oven.

What's this? WOW!! The best looking accessory in the kitchen? What great taste!!! Brilliant!!!Oh, wait a minute. Isn't that the new 'kitchen warming' plaque and towel I gave them? I'm just sayin'! Don't worry, my sweet brother and SIL know I'm J/K. I Love the whole new look guys!
And before I go... I had fun making this new little bottle last night for sweet Julia...one of Sara's adorable friends. Happy Birthday again, Julia. : )
