Wednesdays With My Mom (and) Grey Wall Success

This photo was taken on my mom and dad's honeymoon. They went through Texas to have my dad meet my mom's family and then on to Iowa so my mom could meet my dad's clan. My mom and dad look so young and adorable here. They're sitting with my mom's beloved mother, father, and brother.

This Wednesday was 'Bone Scan' day. My mom has osteoporosis, so they're checking things out, including her wrists.

On our way out, I had her pose by this picture...just because??? : )
My oldest daughter surprised us by stopping by on their way home from Ballet. She helps to teach her little girls' class at the YMCA.
Princess C. dancing like a princess.
Princess G. being adorable.
Performing for G.G.
Well...we got the walls painted before "the end of the world". : ) What a relief. We're so happy with the outcome.

I wanted to thank all of you who expressed caring concern for my sweet Sara. She is doing much better now. The ENT Dr. told us that Mono patients whose glands swell up large like hers, tend to pull out of it much quicker, as opposed to the others who have the long drawn-out fatigue and recuperation. I can't tell you how relieved and how grateful I am to have her better again.
Thanks for visiting today!

I always love seeing photos of your mom and I hope her bone scan came out fine. What fun to have an impromptu ballet recital!! I'm sure that was fun!

The bedroom and walls look beautiful and I'm glad you got it done. Doesn't it feel good when you want something done to actually GET it done!!?!

So glad to hear that Sara is feeling so much better. I have heard that mono can be a long, drawn out thing so it is great that she is doing better quickly.♥

I think your mom is a great sport posing for your blog. She looks like she is a lot of fun to be with, even just going for a bone scan.

The walls look wonderful, so glad you got it done before the end of the world. lol

I look forward to seeing those old photos of your parents. It's so intriguing to me. I love looking through photos of my granparents and hearing the stories that come along with them.

And glad to hear that Sara is better!! I had mono in high school - no fun.

Make sure your mom is taking plenty of vitamin D along with any calcium. It would be a good idea to have her Vitamin D 25 OH monitored if the docs are not already doing so and try to keep the level above 40. Hope your mom's scan holds good news.

Again, My heart is full of sweetness to read about your mother. I adore the most seeing her now. What a trouper she is to let you share her with those of us who no longer have our moms.
May I share that my son also had a bout of mono in first grade. It is not common in young children. My son had the huge glands as well. He got it again the next year and missed a month of school. All through childhood he was the busiest of kids, but boy did he need his sleep at night. He is 25 now and still has lingering fatigue. He has learned skills to compensate for it and is very successful in his life. I am so glad your daughter has pulled through this illness. Until next Wednesday! Elizabeth

I have been reading for a while, but this is my first comment. I love reading about your Wednesdays with your Beautiful Mom. I love the photos, the vintage ones and the new ones.

The room is gorgeous, I have two boys, so I am limited in doing pretty rooms like that.

Glad Sara is feeling better. One of my good friends in HS had Mono and she was out for 6 weeks.

You have gorgeous daughters.

wonderful old photo. those were the days of "carefree-ness" ( if that's a word) family was so respected and beloved back then it seems . now a days people move so far apart and don't take the time to travel and visit family much.
Hope moms scan is good news
