Wednesdays With My Mom

Another leg of the honeymoon. My parents went to Iowa so my mother could meet some of my dad's family. My dad was raised there. By this time, my grandfather had already passed away my grandmother had moved to California and attended their wedding. This photo is of my mother, on the left, and my Aunt Lois with her two daughters.
When I first arrived, we had lunch on my mom's back porch. I had to take this photo of her watering her geraniums just because I thought it was cute.
My mom is FAMOUS for being the shoe queen. All of her daughters and grand daughters blame her for their shoe addiction. Anyway, she's such a good sport about me taking all kinds of silly photos of her. : )
Okay, that morning before I left I was looking through an ad for Pier 1. I don't shop there very often, but when I turned the page and saw these lovely little glitter houses, my heart skipped a beat. I immediately called to see if they had any left and had them hold all three of these for me. Just so you know, they're only about 4 inches tall. I'm planning on turning them into Christmas houses and making a little German glitterhouse display this year.

I just had to take a photo of my mom sitting in a black and white chair. : )

I thought this frame, above, was so pretty. It looks like real lace, but it's just resin like the rest of the frame. It gave me the idea of maybe putting real lace on an existing frame and then spray painting it???
These may not look big in the photo but they were about 20" tall and about 5' long.
Have a good weekend everyone.

What a fun trip to take to Pier 1 with your mom. I always go to Pier 1 when I see one.

LOVE your mom's shoes. I have had a shoe addiction for a long time though I am not NEARLY as bad as I used to be. Now I mostly just wear comfy shoes such as tennis shoes or flip flops.

I have been trying to get to Pier 1 for weeks-I keep getting side-tracked. The putz houses are really cute-love the sherbet colors. Your Mom seems to really love these outings-what a nice way to spend the day.
Love your fairy girls, too Mary Lou. I have pictures of my grand-nieces to "fairyize" for my sister for her birthday.(Her granddaughters) They are fun to make.

Your "Wednesdays with Mom" posts are so heartwarming. I miss my Mom terribly, even after 27 years. I remember doing all of the things you and your mom do together. She was my very best friend. Enjoy your times together and give each other lots of hugs! I love reading about your adventures!

This is so funny. I was in Pier 1 on Thursday. I haven't been to Pier 1 for at least a year, maybe more. I think I'll have to go back for the glitter houses. I went in to get a few of the bunnies on a stick. I'll post about them next week, I hope. Love your mom's shoes. Give her a hug for me. Mimi

OH...your mom is so cute. I just love how you take care of her, and spend time with her. That chair was meant for her.

YAY, on the glitter houses. Very cute. Darn...Our Pier 1 went out of business a few months ago.

Have a great day.

Your Mom is just gorgeous and has such wonderful taste. Do you think she would like to get cards from others?

We don't have a Pier 1 close, they closed. They also closed our Home Goods...depressing sigh....

Well after seeing those cute little houses I had to stop at Pier 1. I didn't end up with the houses but found some very sweet paper luncheon plates. I blogged about them a few days ago and Joyce from scrapforjoy.blogspot.com commented that you should get a commission, because your Pier 1 post encouraged her to stop there too!
Funny!
Thanks for sharing.....and I love your mom's shoes AND Wednesday With Your Mom!
