Remembering on Memorial Day

My blogging friend, Sandy, at 521 Lake Street, encouraged us to share photos of some of the Veterans in our family. Of course, I chose my sweet Dad:

Thank you Daddy... and all Veterans who have served this great country. Also, thank you to all who are currently serving us and our country! Our deepest heartfelt appreciation goes out to you.

I recently made this little box (below) with the vintage children, for a birthday gift. I felt I should blur their little faces because I can't remember where I got this image. If these are family members of yours and you would like me to remove these pics, just let me know and I will gladly do so. I don't ever plan on using this image to make items for sale.

I added the red and blue......The hat.......Hairbow.......and flag. : )

Happy Memorial Day!!!
Mary Lou

What a handsome Dad! So wonderful to see the pictures and cartoons, dear friend. It's so easy to forget the past and the sacrifices that were made for us by others. Thank you for the lovely reminder.:) Lori

Hey, Mary Lou! Happy Memorial Day! I love your box. In several of your Dad's pictures (especially the top one) he sure does resemble Dana Andrews. I don't know if you're a fan of old movies & may or may not know who Dana Andrews is but anyway... :)

HI!!!!
Great pics of your Daddy!!!!
I did have a pic of my Dad in his uniform but gave it back to my Mom, long story.
But I sure am appreciative to all the family members I have who have served at one time or another.
I think currently I have 1 cousin, stationed here in Az and a niece's husband who is serving in Afganistan, so we will be Praying for Michael's safe return home.
God Bless our service men and women
Have a great day
hugs,
jamie

Your dad was definitely handsome. Both my mom and dad were in the military in WWII. I think they truly were the finest generation. Love your little box. So sweet, holding hands like that. Hope your memorial day was lovely. Mimi

Hi Mary Lou, how handsome your Dad looks. We actually have my father-in-laws uniform from the service. Pretty neat to look at. Not a whole lot of pics, like you have. I love these boxes you create. Do you ever put them in your Etsy Shop? You, definitely have a talent. Memorial Day means so much more to me now . . part of growing older, I guess. In war nobody wins. We had a nice Memorial Day, a quiet one. Thanks for sharing the pics, Sandy:O)

What great pictures to celebrate Memorial day. I too am thankful for those who have served our country and continue to serve our country. How touching to see the man in the wheelchair stand as the flag goes by. I sure do love this country.
