Just a Bit of Tweaking in Sara's Room

Just having fun with Sara's room last week. We purchased the bare shelf from either Michael's or JoAnn's a while back and painted it black.

Isn't this old camera great? She especially loves the retro strap. We got it for $10.00 at Goodwill and she actually used it for her photography class. She got some amazing pix with this little beauty. I will definitely post some of them one of these days.
Sara got this frame from Hobby Lobby last week and of course chose the perfect photo of the Eiffel Tower to go in.
This huge picture of Audrey Hepburn given to Sara on her last birthday from sweet Brother and Sister-in-law.

Little mirror above closet came from TJ Maxx.
She got it for a steal because the left corner was broken off. We just put a cheap Christmas ornament over it. Good as new, with a fun little twist.
And last, but not least, Sara purchased this beautiful frame from IKEA ($20.00) a while back with the intention of turning it into a corkboard.
We got the cork from Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon, of course. : )
I'll post the final result when it's finished and hung in her room.

What a delightful room! I love the IKEA frame and the little one from Hobby Lobby. The colors in the Eiffel Tower photo look so pretty in it!
Great fix for the mirror - it looks like it was made that way!

A-ha! I saw that frame at IKEA. Funny thing is...it look exactly like a bunch of mirrors my grandma had (I have one of them now) - funny to see the style come back around.

I wish my room was that cool!

Your daughter's room is so adorable!!! Everything is beautiful. I love those stencils you did. Amazing! And cute frame. Are you going to put fabric over the cork? That would be fabulous!

The Ikea frame is wonderful--not the sort of thing I expect when I think Ikea.

My goodness, your girl has a LOT of purses! LOL!

Hello! I only just realized that only one wall is pink! How beautiful is this room! I love your decorating how-too posts. No you were not mistaken about my mother. In a very early post I tell the story of how I did not know until my father had passed away that my mother was married for one day only just as she had begun nursing school. The boy was from a very wealthy family in her town in NC filled with cotton mills and thread factories. My mother was from a very poor family. The boy's family had the marriage anulled that very day. The boy never stopped loving my mother even though he married and had 8 children. The best part of the story is that they both named their first child by the name they had hoped to use themselves. Both's first borns are Elizabeth Anne! Now that's a story! Thank you so much for your interest! Elizabeth

OH, By the Way! Could you post a picture of the cross stitch State of Texas? I know they can be tacky, but for some reason I love anything with state information. I love vintage state postcards, and plates, pennants, you name it. Especially if they are of Florida! I need a closer look at that map! E

Sara's room is so unique, much like she is I bet! The small mirror with the pin over the damage is a great idea but I really can't wait to see the corkboard. Repurposing-I love it!
