Two for the Price of One

I had lots of fun putting this display together for my header. Of course I'm aware that there are adorable free ones out there. But I don't know why I get such a kick out of doing these with a Holiday theme.
Oh, and the reason I say 'Two for the Price of One' is because I just posted my 'Wednesdays with my Mom' a few minutes before this one. Two in one day...that's a record for me.

I got these three hearts from Target a LONG time ago, but I faithfully put them up every year.
I feel pretty sure that most of you expected me to put Valentine words in my white tree. So I didn't want to disappoint. Hee-hee!

I've still got more things swirling around in my brain for this fun holiday...let's just hope I can pull them off before the big V. day gets here. : )

Wednesdays With My Mom

Isn't this an adorable photo of my mom and her friend? Mom told me that her friend's name is Evelyn...AND she told me the last name, but I've already forgotten. I'm not sure who needs to be in assisted living, her or me?????
Okay, Monday was my mother's 88th birthday. So I'm reporting on that instead of the boring stuff we did Wednesday (like go in for the annual TB test, lots of laundry, and grocery shopping). My sweet older daughter had the the three grand babies (plus cute little D. , her friend's daughter) make cupcakes for GG during the day. And then later on we took them over.

Here's the candlesticks I got my mom for her birthday. When we were at Costco a few weeks ago, she just fell in love with these. However, she is forever the penny-pincher, so I was thrilled that her birthday was around the corner and that I had a 'sure bet' gift for her.

Happy Birthday sweet Mom! : ) And thank you for heading up the 'cupcake patrol', Emily!

A Sneak Peek at My New Vignette Header

Well, I'm working on a new vignette, so I can photograph it and use it for my Valentine header. As I'm sure you've noticed, I put up the silly Valentine that I bought for two of my friends this year. I thought it was so funny, especially since the three of us do a lot together and there were three girls on the front of the card.

Okay, so here's Mr. Wonderful in all his glory. I took one hundred percent of my inspiration from an amazing artist who has a beautiful Etsy shop. Her name is Cari Kraft and you can visit her shop here.
A couple of weeks ago, while at Target, I noticed this little white birdcage...and then it began. I got an idea....................you know the rest. : )

I'm telling ya, this little tag took just as long to make as Mr. Valentine. But I have a question for you. What are your thoughts about the little crown? Better with...or without? I can't decide.

Anyway, you can see where I'm headed. Can't wait to complete it. So Much Fun!!!

A Little Project, Wednesdays With my Mom, AND...Oh Blogging, How I Have Missed thee!

So Yesterday was my oldest daughter's birthday. I was in the "creating mood" this week, so I made this little diddy for her. Nothing to write home about,
but it was fun. : )

Wednesday this week was spent helping my mom clean out her storage closet in back. Very productive, but not very exciting to report on. However, my daughter and her girls decided to come over and have dinner with us. They love their G.G.
Okay, you know me...I'm always looking for something goofy to report on, so here you go: Like I said, yesterday was Emily's birthday, so her big brother, Scott, surprised us by dropping by my place during his lunch hour. I said, "OK guys...you look so cute sitting there together, that I have to take your picture.
Then the girls came up with the idea, "Pretend I just said something hilarious and we're both cracking up over it."
No wonder I love these guys!!! I'm hoping things will slow down a bit this coming week so I can visit each of your Sites again. I've missed that!

Wednesdays With My Mom

I can tell my parents were playing with the timer on their camera and my mom wasn't ready, but I still LOVE this photograph!
We started this day sitting out on my mom's back porch. After realizing how wonderful the weather was, she said, "Hey, do you think this would be a good day to try that walk over to Walgreens?" You see, all Summer long she kept saying she wanted to try that walk together when the weather cooled off.
I hope I don't get in all kinds of trouble from all my siblings when they read this...yikes! Don't worry guys, here's where we rested half way there AND I had my cell phone with me.

We had lots of fun just walking up and down the store aisles and sitting down in the pharmacy area to drink the sodas we purchased. SHE PROMISED ME SHE WOULD NEVER TRY THAT WALK ALONE....OKAY GUYS? : )
How fun that Wednesday was New Years Eve. The cutest thing ever, was that they did their countdown to the new year at about 8 P.M. (because some of the residents don't stay up much later than that). Hee-hee : )

Mom was such a good sport for this photo. She's not the type who would normally wear a party hat, but I told her it was for her other children, who would get a kick out of it. So Cute!
Entertainer for the night .

Some of you will remember adorable Marge from the older posts with my mom.
After the "show" my mom and I went up to the Banjo player to tell him we enjoyed his entertainment. He's the one that suggested I take his picture with my mom. How sweet. : )
Happy New Year!

SWEET CHRISTMAS MEMORIES MADE:

Three Little Cousins

I think Princess C. is literally taking on the role of "Reindeer", to match her antlers....cutie!!
Can you get over that precious, precious, little smile on Master S's face? Priceless. : )
Awww..."Look what Aunt Sara gave me, Mommy."
My cutie-pa-tootie Son and adorable DIL!!!

Awww...... G.G's favorite color!!!!!!

Some body's going to look beautiful in that new coat!
Okay...THIS PHOTO NEEDS AN EXPLANATION...
You see, I'm sentimental to a fault. As you will see below, these gifts were given to my children many Christmases ago. Over the years I've heard these two children say more than once, "Hey, whatever happened to ...... or.......?" Somehow they mysteriously disappeared over the years. So when I found this Star Wars Creature again in an antique store, I grabbed it up and knew I would save it back for Christmas.
The Jack-in-the-box has a sweet story behind it. I remember this Christmas well. My husband was in Law School and extremely busy finishing up the semester just before the holidays. So on Christmas Eve, he went out to purchase my gift, and wanted something to be "JUST from him" to our little kiddos. This little Jack-in-the-box got ruined somehow after four children, real life, etc. So...I found it on EBay this year and have been saving it back ever since Summer.

Time to start the dinner preparations:

G.G. cutting up the apples for our yam dish.
Master S. willing to do his part too. "Hey, this red rolling pin looks fun!"
Priceless!
Part of the gang enjoying the Feast.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night.
I hope your Christmas was Merry & Bright!!
