I'm Late...I'm Late...For a very important date...

I know...I missed Wednesdays With My Mom this week, but that's because my mom had an "Alzheimer's Episode" this past Tuesday and it's taken me this long to recuperate. Her physical health is fine, but my sister and I ended up spending several hours in the hospital last Tuesday afternoon and evening. By the time we left, and after several tests, they told us it was just "one of those things" that goes along with Alzheimer's. I will give a further explanation next week on my 'Wednesdays...' post. I'm also relieved that we have a scheduled appointment with her Neurologist this Friday.
Okay, on to happier things...
GOODIES IN THE MAIL:
See these adorable Fall glitter tags, above? Well I won them, along with a few mini ones from Tammy, at Tinsel & Company. I already used the mini maple leaf in the nest, below. Click here to see Tammy's wonderful Ebay Store. THANK YOU TAMMY!!
NOTICE: My oldest daughter said, "Mom, you should antique the pumpkin the little girl is sitting on to make it look more authentic." Boy, was she ever right. : ) Thanks Em!!!
The next two items are things I ordered from two delightful Etsy Shops. This one below came from the 'Cherry's Jubilee' Shop. Click here to see Cherry's Fabulous Etsy Store. I told her she was the "Queen of Paper". SO TRUE! If you remember from last Fall, she is the one who gave me the inspiration for the pumpkin guy on a box. I think there's one waiting in her Shop today! And last, but certainly not least, I ordered these charming earrings, below, from Molly at 'A Bit 'o Shine'. Click here to see Molly's beautiful jewelry in her Etsy Store.
Have a great weekend everyone.

I believe I know exactly what you mean about an "episode." I have so many stories about my grandmother...but I won't go into them. Just know that I understand and will be sending warm thoughts your way.

The aged pumpkin was a fab idea! Way to go daughter! :)

What a lot of fun goodies you got - and what a dear you are for linking to my shop.

Said a little prayer for you and your sweet Momma. I know how scary things can be with dementia- for both of you. Keep us posted.

I have been eyeing the ballerina birdcage in YOUR etsy shop... I know a certain 7 year old who would FLIP over it... ;0)

Hey, it's been awhile since I had any spare time to get around o blogging friends. Real life seems to go at warp speed and there is no time to dive into the blogging world and dream. So just stopping by to say hi and catch up reading your blog. Have a good night.

Hope that things are going better for your Mom. I know how hard it can be. You have been a wonderful and caring daughter. I know your Mom is glad to have you.

I have so much compassion for you with your mom. I work for Merrill Gardens and work daily with families that have a loved one battling Alzheimers and my own mom had it too. I am the marketing director so I am always on first base and the families come in needing help. I know how hard it is dear one.

HI Marylou,
Oh I'm so sorry about your Mom, that is a terrible disease and so robs them and us of so much life with them, hopefully she will not get worse and after her Dr. visit maybe there is something more they can do, I worry about my Mom, her Mom had dementia so bad and I can see my Mom slipping already at 74. She does not remember names and faces like she did before. Poor thing and she lives in St. Louis so far from me....
hugs to you tonight my dear,
jamie

Hi ML, You're raising a mini Stewart/Macgyver! (That is not at all like a mini Cooper!) Bravo for her genetically pre-disposed well-trained eye! I did go to each of the shops because you KNOW how I love Etsy...no so much Ebay, but I went there too!

I'm so sorry about your mom. My mom was very aware of what was going on til the very end of her life. I don't know if it's better to know what's going on or not. Some days she was too aware of her medical problems and I think it frightened her. Anyway, I wish we didn't have to go through these terrible things. It's hard to watch. I've bought a couple of things from Cherry too. She does such a great job. Mimi

Oh no, give your momma extra hugs okay? Poor lady. :(
The stuff you got is great! Your daughter must have the same decorating/style eye as you to suggest antiquing the pumpkin. I never would have thought of that.

My heart goes out to you and I will say prayers for your family.
I do know what you are going through. One of by best friends Mother had it and I hated seeing her like that. My other friends Aunt had it and than a neighbor at the last house we lived in had it. If that was not bad enough when we moved here I met and became friends with wonderful Woman behind our home and she got it a couple of years ago. We lost her just a few months ago. I will miss all this women and hope that the Doctors can find a cure for this.

Sorry about your moms episode and praying things get better for you soon with her.

The little pumpkin nest is so cute. It would be perfect for the shelf I found at the flee market last weekend if the dimensions were right. I'll go check out your etsy store!

Hi M.L.!!!
I wanted to get back to you before I forgot, about the masks!!! You just might want to throw a Marie Antoinette party soon!!!!!
The original 5 the ones with the tall feathers, I picked up in New Orleans in May, when we drove through there when we moved C.J. back home from Law school in Orlando!!!! Cheap too, like 2 or 3 bucks each!!!! I ahd a Marie Antoinette party in the back of my head!!!! The other ones --more fancy looking ones, got those at Party City!!!! You can spend alot of money on them or buy the bulk bag of them 4 in a bag for 12.99, pretty good deal !!!!
It was a fun idea!!! Got the invites on etsy along with the Marie Antoinette chapstick!!! Wooden fans on line somewhere!!! I wanted to get white lacy hankies and then have them emboideried with each girls name on them, but never could find lacy hankies!!!! I guess no one uses them any more :>(, sad huh!!!
well hope that answered that about the masks!!!!
If you ever want to borrow some, I have 4 of them!!!!
hugs,
jamie
