It got crazy busy towards the end of last week cuz one of our "gal pals" got married on Saturday. It was all very exciting. By Thursday we were all busy either making cupcakes for the reception, one of the gals cut LOTS of vinyl, and then there was this surprise quilt you see below that needed to be finished.
Isn't this just the sweetest quilt ever??? All the colored fabrics are from a 1930's reproduction line. This little surprise for Leslie, was Margie's brain child. Last month four of us got together over at Margie's to make this little sneaky project come together. Then last week Margie quilted it on her Long Arm.
One guess what we were doing Friday night...yep...we did the binding around the edges by hand while watching Jane Eyre (2006 version/THE BEST EVER)!
And because the quilt was SO ultra cute, we had to have an "ultra cute" quilt label. See the package I scanned (above)? I've been dying to try my hand at this product for a long time and now I had the perfect project for it.
So I just typed out this cute label with some of my fun fonts, printed it on the special paper in the kit, ironed it on, and then sewed the pink strips around to give it a border. I LOVE the way it turned out. I blurred out every one's last name for obvious reasons, so if it looks like Clorox spills, it's just my bad photo-editing skills. : ) I got this Avery product at Staples BTW.
Congratulations Leslie. And happy Monday everyone!

I found Wednesday's With Mom....thanks! Don't know how I missed it as I check my favorite blogs daily.....
A beautiful gift for your friend. I'm still wondering where you find time to do all that you do!
The quilt is "ultra cute". Love the color combinations.
Hugs ~Sue
P.S. Sorry I haven't stopped by lately. I have been crazy busy and I was looking at my calendar for the rest of the year and it's not going to get any better :) I already have several craft shows scheduled for the rest of the year and I need to keep by behind in the sewing room. LOL
What a FABULOUS quilt for your friend. That is just too sweet. LOVE the label. She is going to cherish it forever.
It's lovely! I've used the printable fabric before, which is VERY expensive and it fades after the first washing, which was disappointing. I think this would be a great alternative :D
The quilt is soooooo gorgeous! You all did the most amazing job! What a gift!:) Oh, and we love Jane Eyre over here, too... Lori
That is an adorable quilt and what a treasure for her!
Oh Sweetie!
I bet she was so thrilled and filled with happiness when she received this quilt. It is just beautiful, absolutely beautiful. You all did a marvelous job. I love the little label. That was the most wonderful addition to it all. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful Monday Labor Day. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
How nice to be able to spend time with your friends.
FUNNY, Saturday night I purchased t-shirt transfer paper. BUT...I can't figure out how to flip, or mirror image my numbers, letters, etc. Which means everything will iron on backwards. AUGH!
I think I need photoshop.
Have a great day.

YEA!!! After spending far to long at the computer trying to figure out how to mirror image, my daughter sat down and figured it out in less than 5 minutes. HIP-HIP-HOORAY!

Beautiful!
I was wondering how crafters made prints on fabric. That's a gift that will be cherished through the years.

Thanks for the advice on printing mirror images. How nice to take a minute to help me!!!!
I'm done now...I promise.
