So my sweet friend, Margie, approaches me one day, saying, "Leslie needs about 20 handouts for the leaders of Girls Camp, and I think we should help her out cuz she has enough on her plate right now." So we brain stormed and here's what we came up with:
The theme for Girls Camp this year was, as you see above, Daughter of a King. Meaning, you are a daughter of God.
So I typed it up and printed it out on paper first. Then, I taped the linen to the paper, so that they would line up just right...
Fed them through the printer and then stamped the crowns.
Next, Margie used her Super-Duper Viking with all the bells and whistles and did a decorative stitch all the way around.
Next, we frayed all the edges by pulling out the threads up to the stitching line, put in an eyelet, and attached the small tassel.
Margie had the great idea to attach a candy bar and little note to each.
What a happy picture above! Below, is what we put inside the notes. The only caution I would throw out there, is that linen is very expensive. Margie got this piece at a needlework shop and I believe it was around $25. However, there was just enough left for me to make a couple of miniature Lavender-filled pillows. Be looking for them in the Shop soon.

The bookmarks are great ~ thanks for the tutorial! I've never tried printing on fabric before.
Enjoy the movie ~ I hear it's a good one!
They are gorgeous! What a lovely gift! You and your Mom are going to love "UP"! I hope you have the loveliest day, Sweetie. You so deserve it.:) Lori
These are very cute!
Whew! I've had a lot of blog reading to do since I returned from the weekend. You are understandably tired my friend-you've had a lot going on. Your sweet Mom is so blessed to have a loving family and you, in turn, are blessed to have her to love and care for. I laughed when I read the "Clue" post! I just found a vintge Clue game (my favorite game from childhood) complete with the original weapons....now I just need to find someone to play with! Take care of yourself.
Those are so cute and what a FABULOUS little gift for the girls camp.
We saw the movie and it is really CUTE! You will love it!
You have such fun ideas, thanks for the instructions!

I love these so much! I am ALWAYS in need of a bookmark but it's hard to find ones that I like. Now, I can just make my own! LOVE LOVE them!
Those are so awesome! What a wonderful way for those young girls to remember that they are daughters of the King!
Hi Mary Lou,
Sorry I forgot to answer your question about the little figurine. It is from a little "cutsey" shop in town....one that has cute stuff but most of it is overpriced (if you know what I mean). On the bottom of the figure it says Pint-sized Professionals. Robin Kelso for DEMD ACO.
There were several of these in figurines like a nurse, firefighter, etc. priced between $15.00 - $18.00 in that shop. They might have them on ebay (maybe cheaper?). I just thought he was so cute I couldn't pass him up.
The bookmarks are beautiful. Hope you love the movie. Seth and I went and saw the movie when mom's plane was late and we had a couple hours to kill. We really enjoyed it.
You can PRINT on linen with a printer?? Those are very nice, I love em!
: )
PS My kids went with my parents to see Up and they loved it!

I have been gone for a couple of weeks and then I had company for the last 3 weeks.. I am do behind on checking on my blog friends. Oh goodness.. I am so sorry you have been going through this rough time. I totally know what you are going through.. it just made me cry. You are such a loving and devoted daughter I am sure it was very hard to go to your mom and tell her she needed to move. You have my prayers also. Hugs to your whole family ... and thanks for sharing your mommas photos again.
Hi ML, I don't create - I buy. If you're making these, I'm ordering. Pretty please send me an email if they're available because I lovvvvvvvvvvvvve them!
This is a fantastic gift idea. I've never gotten into stamping, but have always admired all of the stamps at the craft stores. Love the crown stamp. I really should pick some up. That would be wonderful on many things. The fringed edges add the perfect touch.
You asked about my burlap bottle and the crown. I made it a month or so ago, but wasn't sure about it. It has grown on me--even w/all of its imperfections. I actually used a black sharpie for the crown. :S
Glad you mom is adjusting to her new place. I know that all of these new things are so exhausting.
These are wonderful! What great gifts! I've been visiting through my reader, and I just saw your manatle header! HELLO! I LOVE it (as always, of course). You're so talented!
What a great idea for girls camp. I've kept all my girls camp gifts from all my years of going (many moons ago, of course!). Those girls will definitely treasure the bookmarks for years to come!
Hey miss whimsy! I have a blog award for you!! come by and pick it up : ) I saw wednesday with your mom, what a sweetie she is, I hope she is settling in well... I like dogs too and I have one that looks like the yorkie, he is a terror and I call him the little meanie... or little devil dog...he won't even keep the bow in his hair!! LOL!!! have a nice weekend hugs, Jennifer
How nice that you can Margie could help out Leslie. The bookmarks turned out really cute. I'm sure they were enjoyed by all.
Oh Leslie!
Can I go to camp too? I want a book mark. They are just beautiful honey. You did yourself proud. Great Job. I'm clapping for you, can you hear me? Thanks for sharing. As always you make my day. Country Hugs, Sherry

They turned out great! Something to be treasured. LOVE girls camp!
I am glad Miss P Mc Call is going to go to camp next month. Can't wait for her to come back and report.
I miss those last night at girls camp when my husband was bishop. It was one of the fringe benefits to be able to up and ahve dinner with the girls and enjoy a beautiful testimony meeting.
They were a spiritual buffet.:) I hope you enjoyed 'UP'! I am taking my local grandchildren this week.
