Can you EVEN believe this??? Diana, you should have been entered in a contest! My grandparents (below). Looks like they came from Texas to see the new baby, enjoy the oldest two and help out during their visit. What special people they were!
On this Wednesday, last week, my mom and I enjoyed watching The King and I. It was so delightful to watch again. I hadn't seen it in a LONG time. Who can forget the adorable dance scene between Anna and the King?
Or the amazing interpretation (below) of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Some of the most outstanding choreography ever!

I always thought Debra Kerr and my mom looked alike. Both beautiful!
My sweet friend, Margie, offered to let me borrow some of her 'large piece' puzzles to do with my mom on Wednesdays. They say that puzzles, word games, crossword puzzles, etc. are very good for the brain and memory.
And last...I hope you won't mind me sharing something very HAPPY with you!! Michelle, over at From House to Home purchased one of my Nest Banners recently and then took photographs of where she displayed it in her home. I thought I would burst with pride when I saw these pix over at her place.

I cannot tell you how much I love seeing these precious pictures of your family, dear friend. They are treasures! The King and I is wonderful! I know your Mom has such fun with you.:) She is such a beautiful lady and so are you- inside and out.;) Lori
Your Mom is beautiful...and her clothes. I love what she's wearing in the first photo. How cool that you got to see what you made displayed like that!
She has the exact same bone structure as Deborah Kerr! I love the first photo! And I was struck, when I saw the photo of your grandparents with the kids, that you and I are probably older than they were then...and isn't it funny how that has changed over the years?
This was such a sweet touching post. What a wonderful day it must have been for your mother. I loved seeing the vintage photos too. Beautiful family! Your nest garland looks fabulous displayed at Michelle's.
It's so nice you have the time to spend each Wednesday with your Mom. I'm sure the puzzels will be fun for her. It is fun watching the old movies. They do bring back memories.
Mary Lou - I love your posts, your pictures and your blog! You are the sweetest thing! Your mom is so lucky to have you.

Your mom is so beautiful. I can't believe how thin she was after the 3rd baby.
I know y'all enjoyed watching The King and I. How fun to do the oversize puzzle. It looks like a pretty one.
I saw your beautiful NEST Banner over at Michelle's and it looks wonderful where she has it hung.
I love your post about your mother.
Your stories are close to my heart.
I finally have pictures of the trunk show up.
I love the King and I. My Mom, Sister and I went to see the play with Yul Brynner in it. I will always remember it!.
Your nest banner looks great in Michelle's home.
I really enjoyed your post today.

Oh ML your Moma looks good in the picture of her. She is doing puzzles how wonderful is that. It is funny how we grow up and suddenly the roles in our lives change. She seems to be happy in her new home. I know it is an adjustment for you, but honey she really does look happy. You know she needs that round the clock care. Enjoy your Moma Wednesday and have fun with her today. Thanks for sharing honey. I continue to pray about you both. Country Hugs, Sherry
Your Mom has such a sweet smile on her face and she looks so comfy in that chair. I think puzzles are such a great idea and how nice that you could borrow some with larger pieces for the two of you to do together. The King and I is such a good movie ~ I haven't watched it in forever though.
Your banner looks like it was made to order for that spot!!

I remember when women wore dresses even at home during the day. If you could see how I look right now-yeesh! Your Mom was and is very photogenic-I love the old pics. Your banner enhances Michelle's breakfront...looks made for that piece!
you mother is very beautiful and Diane was an absolute doll! My grandmother is 93 and they do crossword puzzles with her every day.. It is amazing how she knows the answers! one night when I was down visiting in march, we were playing a new version of trivial pursuit, (I hate that game!) any ways grandmas question was "A name beginning with S that Simon Cowell hates to be called" Grandma never missed a beach and yelled out.. "SLUT!!" thougt I would die I tell ya!!
BTW!! I LOVE your nest swag. it is so sweet!
hugs

HI M.L.!!!
I too love reading and seeing the photos of your Mom, I started some thing new on Wednesdays--show and tell, and today's theme is a person but not someone in your family, I am doing my MOM, I know she is in my family, but not my family I live and blog about all the time!!! So I will have it done later today, as I have some fun photos to scan, and It takes me awhile to do!!!!haha
love the big puzzle, where do you get those????

jamie

To answer about my mom, no, she doesn't have diabetes, which is such a blessing, since so many kidney patients do. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers and sweet comments. They really do mean so much to us. :) Have a good Thursday!
What precious pictures of your family! Both your parents look like movie stars! I loved that dance scene in the King and I. I wanted a big skirt with a hoop in it so I could dance like Anna did, swooping around the dance floor. Great movie. Mimi
Love your photos, so sweet and love the post. Your Mom is still one gorgeous lady!!! Hope your week is going great.
